Can someone please provide more information or pictures in changing the oil for a Sonata 2015? I am on my first oil change and it has been painful. I searched using google and found no pictures, videos, or guides in changing oil for a 2015 Sonata Limited. I saw a post on this forum but there are no specifics.

Thanks.

You are not trying to take the entire panel off,are you? There are 2 panels, take the smaller one off. Once off,it allows access to the oil filter right back to the drain bolt on the oil pan. From memory, there are about 7 bolts/screws . Very easy to do,hope it helps.

Airforce1 - Thank you so much for the info. Yeah, it's very helpful. I was planning to take both panels off. I am glad I waited. I will try again tomorrow.

Apparently there are about a dozen bolts to remove the panel.

After that an 80mm 15 flute endcap wrench will come in handy for the oil filter.

The drain plug bolt is 17mm (I believe) and it should be torqued to 30lb ft

Don't forget to change the drain plug washer
Someguy - Thank you so much for the info and tip. I am planning to buy the 80mm 15 flute endcap wrench. Do you really need to change the drain plug washer? I owned two 2011 Sonatas before. I changed oil on both but don't recall changing the drain plug washers.

Yes it's a crush washer and only good once. Not changing it could result in the washer getting fused to drain plug and a bad seal down the road.

Pool Float yeah some dealers include the washer with filters and others charge a buck or two.

I personally use the Honda washer because I got an envelope full off eBay for cheap. Same size drain plug.
Thank you for the information. I will change the washer. This was very helpful. Thank you again.
