That's a problem. My 2012 is flush.

 

Thats not right. Check the hinges to see if they are loose or bent, or an obstruction....

 

Yeah I opened up the trunk and looked at the hinges...There is no immediate issue poking out at me but then again I didn't look close enough. Very strange...It is equal on both sides of the trunk as well.

Let me go look again. Would they really be BENT?

 

well didn't you check the car before you drive home from a dealer ship you should of inspect the car if it was fine before then is either bent or aliens came and did lol

How would it bend, just curious? There has never been any sort of accident. We did have an ice storm here a few weeks back with some heavy sheet of ice on my trunk overnight...Could that seriously do something?

I would take it in to the dealer. 12,000 should cover you under warranty.

 

A sheet of ice shouldn't do that... If nothing's loose, I'm guessing that either it's been that way since you got it, or someone bumped you, possibly an SUV in a parking lot... Plastic bumpers sometimes don't leave a scuff, but can still cause significant amounts of damage, especially when they hit a 'sweet spot'...

Take it to the dealer.. Ask them what's going on and get them to fix it under warranty (assuming it hasn't been hit).

 

For the trunk to be that misaligned, there would definitely be external evidence if it was hit by something. My guess, the trunk was force closed with something obstructing the hinge. IMHO

 

Thanks guys. There is zero evidence of any damage at all and even more odd is I rarely use the trunk and if I do it's for a few groceries. Really strange. It was not lIke this when I got it that's for sure. Will look tomorrow in Daylight. Was planning on having that darn left pull fixed anyways so good reason to call the dealer

 

my money is on a shifted trunk lid, need to check the 4 bolts holding it on to the hinges
