Saga continues...
This morning it worked fine, and died again in the evening. Was really wierd. So I started playing with all the switches and found that the moment I have ANY external lights on - shiftronic is screwed. And I mean - ANY LIGHTS. Whether it's just parking lights, headlights with or without fogs or auto when it's dark. So the only lights that work in any of these situations are the interior lighting, rear lights, and front parking lights. Looks like this is some sort of electrical glitch that screws up everything. Now, how do I find it?
The only 2 things that are not original on the car are - fog light bulbs are 37 watt instead of 27 watt, and couple months ago I had some rear light or brake light relay or something replaced under the recall. Plus, I have the radar detector and GPS hardwired to the fuse box, but both devices always work no matter how the lights are, so I think they're not related.
Remote starter is installed since the day I got the car, and I think it's probably unrelated.
Also, recently I burned a lighter fuse and simply replaced it with the fuse that was labeled as SPARE. I hope it really was spare, but that also was about a month ago and I used shiftronic since and it was fine. That's probably not the cause then.
What is?
BTW, I just reset the computer. Disconnected the negative for couple minutes - Odometer is reset, so I guess everything else too. Did absolutely nothing to the problem.
