Hi,
I am a Trajet GL year 2003 owner from malaysia.

I had my radiator crack at the black fibre area. Specifically at the part that looks like it should be attached to something. will attach picture when camera comes back from service. from the looks of it, it cracked at the part that the hook being joint/attached to the black fibre part of the radiator.

the local hyundai service mentions that it seems this is normal wear and tear for the car.
radiator life is aorund 3 years, or around 100K KM.

i think it is just a bunch of BS from them.

radiators don't just crack for no reason.

anyone have any comments/experience?

Hi there,
found this old thread about a radiator crack, looks like I am facing the same fate in my 2006 2.0. My car is also 3 years old and has a bit over 80K km on the clock, just like the theme starter's car when he posted this thread. I noticed that coolant was missing and there is a puddle under the car when it stands. The hoses look ok and it looks like it comes from the radiator area but I cannot locate it. Any ideas? I should I should try to fill in that fluid which fixes small leaks or is that a bad idea with this modern engine? Thanks for any hint. BTW: the coolant is the original factory coolant.

by two parts glued togather . after time and pressure it opens a bit . the radiator

is fine and i believe it lasts ,mine is 10 years old . i use a distiled water , low

I have a 2002 Trajet. The top expansion tank leaked slightly so I glued it over with resin. It lasted another year, last year it went pretty suddenly on the motorway. AC stopped and the temp shot up into the red. Pulled over and the engine was smelling real bad and te top of the tank had a gaping crack in it.
Got a new on on eBay for 100 pounds and got the local garrage to fit it. The appears to be issues with the top cover of these rads, so I got a generic better than OEM quality one.

Hi
I have a 2003 and had the same problem with the radiator cracking, it had only done 62000 miles. We was lucky it was still under warranty from the garage we bought it from so we did not have to pay for it.
All in all we have had the car for about 18 months and have paid out about ÂŁ600 in repairs
