Assuming that you already Google'd it, right?

"P"owertrain code 0700 is a global problem flag meaning that there are more than one code set with the transmission being likely the most important part or only subgroup with an error condition.

Find a cheap (ELM327-based) ODB2 dongle with Bluetooth so you can use Torque to dig deeper. There is at least another P07Ă—Ă— code, probably more than one. I keep one that I paid $12 for almost ten years ago sitting in my center console, and it is just a good thing to have around. If you can fix it yourself you can reset the MIL and wait for something else to come up.

You don't say what engine your car has but I'm assuming it's the 2.0/2.4?

The P0700 code is telling you that there is a problem with your auto gearbox. You'll need to have the transmission control module scanned to get the transmission trouble code. Unfortunately, you can't do that with a cheap generic OBD scanner so I think your probably gonna need to visit a garage to have the problem diagnosed.
