I have a 2005 Sonata. Last month I had my car battery replaced, and ever since then I would notice my hazard lights flashing, and the red light on my key fob flashing. I'd push it, and everything would be fine.
2 days ago, I go to get in my car and the alarm won't turn off. I push the fob, button lights up, but the doors don't unlock. When I unlock the door using the key, the car doesn't start.
Called a locksmith about it, he told me that my year of Sonata often has problems with the alarm suddenly breaking, He said he avoiss those cars, and said I could order a replacement on ebay and program myself, but the security box hidden behind the center panel sometimes doesn't have a switch to turn off/on. I read about on a couple youtube vids
I'm thinking of pulling the fuse to the alarm to hopefully start the car, and then getting an inexpensive aftermarket alarm.
anyone else have this problem?
