Elantra 2017 trunk space vs gt

Hello everyone. I currently own an elantra-gt 2013 but I was wondering if the trunck space of the elantra 2017 is bigger or smaller than the gt. I'm currently hesitating in going back to a sedan car but I always believed that an hatchback has more trunck space. Am I wrong? I'm asking because I have a child and need trunk space and not seats folded down.

Thank you

Cargo volumn on the GT with seats up is listed as 23CF and the sedan as 14.4CF. So yes the GT has more cargo space with seats up.

FWIW: I've got four Sonata chrome 17" rims in the back of mine, right now. Fit fine, but need to get them out.

Mulling over whether or not to put them on the 2017. The old timers on here remember them. They're highlighted in my album, on my 2013. I'm impressed with the volume of space in the trunk.

Hey I'm probably one of the youngest members and I know them!

The GT will be more useful and spacious in most cases. If you are concerned, take the larger times you ned to cart around (play pen, stroller, 48 pack of toilet paper...) and ask the dealer to unlock a sedan and you can play with the trunk spaces while your car is parked next to it. It's probably cheaper to get a roof rack and Thule box for those odd trips where more space is needed than buying a new car that likely won't give you more space anyway;)

Or wait for the Ioniq to arrive in showrooms.

Make mine a Redhead! And that Ioniq should catch on pretty quickly. Hyundai has had some nice success with new model intro's and awards. Hopefully, this continues that string.

As far as Prius goes? Sometimes, as I pass one, I drop down into passing gear and zip right past them. Just to let them know I was okay with wasting a little extra fuel and polluting their delicate nasal passages with my CO2. Tree huggers are okay, and I respect them and their plight, but they really push my envelope, at times.
