Dealer wants first service at 3750 miles ????

Hi,

I just purchased my first Hyundai and I currently have 4,200 on my vehicle. I'm going in for an oil change this week and my appointment listed the oil change AND service 3,750 miles. I asked what this was for and if it was covered under my warranty and the advisor said he would remove it from my appointment. I wish Hyundai would give more insight on what this service is for? I'm a previous BMW owner and I want to keep up with the required services, but THIS, this seems way too soon for me, and not getting an explanation as to why its needed so soon concerns me.... Any insight? Thank you. (Female, Hyundai owner)
Really old thread but ...

Also you are likely in the wrong forum unless you somehow found a 2015 or older Sonata with less than 4K miles on it, but ..

If it is a turbo, the requirements are different, but for the non-turbo, you are supposed to do the oil change and rotate the tires and do some inspections at 7500 miles under normal service or 3750 miles for severe service.

Personally, I DIY every 5K miles.

The OM explains what needs to be done and when - the dealer will often try to sell you additional items with MIGHT be a good idea, but aren't required.
