Hi all,

Been a visitor on this forum for sometime and loving my Twingo play (Coming up to a year now :D). I've been wondering if anyone has found an aftermarket option for the Twingo 2015 model ?

I've searched all over and couldn't find any navigation systems that fits in the Twingo, has anyone seen one that either fit's in the i10 2015 model ?

Currently I use a really old tomtom but now the battery is wearing out I feel its better looking for something "fitted" rather than external due to obvious issues (theft, power etc)

Thanks in advance :)

Ok, yes, I see that now. Couldn't see it in his/her post earlier as all I could see was 'Twingo' and thus the post is not at all clear in what the OP was attempting to achieve. His/her first paragraph seems though, to be quite explicit, quote "I've been wondering if anyone has found an aftermarket option for the Twingo 2015 model ?"

It would of course be incredibly helpful if the OP would update their User Profile to include their country of residence and exact vehicle driven as this will help all forum members give more specific advice.

I'm more familiar with the USA market, but essentially, there are typically three options for most any car.

- If Metra or similar makes a D-DIN kit, you can install a brand name aftermarket stereo (Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, JVC, Sony).

- E-bay often has Chinese Android or WinCE based head units that are plug and play for specific cars.

- If Hyundai or Renault offers higher-level navigation radios in the higher trim lines, it may be possible to install those in a lower-trim model.

As far as I'm aware, Hyundai don't offer a built in Satnav option for the i10, so yes, if there is some sort of Chinese retro fit available, then that would be the only option.

Personally, we just use a TomTom, a GO5000 and it's just fine, especially with the free map updates and live traffic. We took it with us on our recent trip to South Africa, yes, I had to buy the South Africa/Lesotho map for it, but it was absolutely the best thing we did, up to date mapping that really made our driving experience much more reliable and safer!

The problem with built in systems, is often updating them, especially if you have to pay for the updates. I ended up taking out the built in infotainment system in my Saab for precisely the reason that when the supplied DVD discs became horribly out of date, they were just too expensive to replace and now I can't even get updated discs for that system anyway. I replaced the entire system with a Kenwood DAB unit without satnav.

Can only speak as a UK Tom Tom owner, but due to a large number of SEAT, VW and AUDI cars having been broken into for their built in SatNav units, I'd recommend just having an up to date, but portable, Sat Nav unit that has free lifetime updates available.

I just keep my Tom Tom in the glove compartment until needed, and I recommend a fantastic, cheap rubber base that I recently bought from Amazon UK, which goes perfectly with the i10's flat dash.

It means you dont have to stick the Tom Tom on the windscreen and leave those circular tell tale signs that everyone hates wiping off.

It works wonderfully, and just gets put in the glove compaerment still attached to the Sat Nav, when finished

Best ÂŁ4 I've spent for ages :)

Can anyone confirm if the i10 Hyundi and i10 Renault have the same type of interior accessories, I'm not sure where I've got Hyundi from although I'm kinda basic on cars sorry for any confusion!
You are sure confusing the members.

I don't think there is an i10 Renault.

A few cars have a standard D-DIN radio from the factory and you could install a Kenwood or similar in them. Neither the i10 nor the Twingo is one of them.

The i10 has a fairly standard radio and the Twingo has a smartphone touchscreen adapter or a 7-inch touchscreen as part of the tech package.

The only thing really common to them is you could add a Garmin or TomTom or similar to both with the dash mounts like we mentioned earlier.

Toilet-Duck, hi again,

Well, you've certainly got me completely confused! I'm hoping I've not missed something here? How have you come to the conclusion that the Twingo and the i10 have any sort of relationship? They are two completely different cars from two completely different manufacturers.

We'd all love to help here, we just need to understand where you're coming from......

Sadly, I think we've frightened Toilet-Duck off :frown:
I have to admit, I was just a tad confused about what he or she was trying to convey. In this case, a good aftermarket portable satnav is about the only real option. As I stated earlier, my wife uses a TomTom GO 5000 and it's perfect. Keep meaning to buy a beanbag for the dash, but it's just as easy for us to stick it in the window.
