I believe there's a certain distance that it has to be adjusted to and you have to park it in front of a wall on a flat pavement as much as possible. Like you mentioned to do it to suits your needs then this procedure is worthless lol, in regards to adjusting normally I just park it like 15 ft away from a wall then slowly turn counter clockwise to raise and clockwise to lower your headlight. This was done on my Kia Optima so I would assume it's the same thing being Hyundai vehicles. If you look down behind your headlights, there's this gear knob that lies vertical and if I remember correctly it's 6mm or 8mm socket and you can just use it with a ratchet. I'd say about 1/2-3/4 of a turn but hat depends on how high you want to raise it. Also it's best to mark it with a marker so you know how much you turn for reference just in case you overturn it. There should be two hexes on the back of the headlight, one vertical and the other horizontal. These have the star wheel over them for the phillips adjustment You may be able to get to the vertical with a small long phillips. The horizontal is not always accessible like this. Look for some embossed arrows on the headlight trim. But the arrows are not always right.....

What are you trying to correct for? If you are trying to raise them to illuminate roadside signs better you cannot do so without blinding everyone facing you. Only mentioning that because as a Dealer that is the complaint we hear the most about projector headlamps....

Also be aware that if you have a State Inspection program headlamp aim may be a part of that process and if so they will be required to reset the aim back into State requirements.

If you can't figure that out, you probably should mess with it.

My HIDs were aimed way too high from the factory. I aimed them properly by finding a flat surface adjacent to a white wall. In my case, my driveway/garage door. Then you pull right up to the wall/door, within 2 feet, mark the cutoff on the wall with masking tape for each light, then backup 20 feet or so. When aimed correctly, there should be a 3 step pattern on the wall, from left to right going up. The upper cutoff of the left beam should land at the lower cutoff of the right. This center part/step should be about 1-2 inches below your tape. The far right should be at the tape or slightly above and the far left should be lower.

From the factory, mine were pointing upwards on both sides, blinding oncoming drivers.

I’m going through a similar problem with my Santa Fe sport. One of my headlights went out so I had them both replaced now I’ve only got about 15 feet of illuminated space then there’s a massive shadow. It’s very annoying and not safe. I took it back to the same AAA mechanic and he supposedly adjusted it. I’ll find out tonight when I’m out and about. It should be easy to adjust these things, but it isn’t
