I have a 2008 Sonata with a 2.4L. When I put ~4.5 quarts in after a oil/filter change, it always brings the dipstick to the middle of the min and max marks.

I would guess that Hyundai published "4.54 quarts" to help prevent overfilling, which can be as bad or worse than underfilling. Then again, "4.54 quarts" (or "4.3 liters") is an awfully specific figure for that to be the case.

In any case, you are fine as long as the oil level is between the min/max marks.

I recently changed the oil on my 2009 Sonata GLS (2.4L0 and now have a slight oil leak at the drain plug.
Does anyone have a part number for the crush gasket??

Was hoping to run out and pick one up at the local auto parts.
They dont seem to have a part number for one. So, hopefully somone here can help.

Thank in advance.

My local parts guy gives me crush gaskets for free. Obviously you cannot expect that and I do not go in expecting it, but he's just nice that way. If you need some other parts anyway (air filter, cabin air filter, oil filter, etc.), maybe it's worth going in, then asking about the crush washer later on in the process. :)

I use a Fumoto quick drain valve F-106N and it doesn't leak a drop. No washer changes needed, either.

Just go to local Hyundai or Kia dealer..... we buy them in bags of gross quanity, drawer full of them, beside those taped to the box for spin on filter,, the canister filter has ring iside the box as part of the kit.

I personally do not have much confidence in those aluminum crush washers. I always use Hyundai filters and my dealer gives a new drain plug gasket with it every time as well. Used them until mine too had a leak. Went to Autozone and bought something a little softer (not sure what's it made of but feels kinda plasticky. I've had it on for three change cycles now and so far no leak.
