It seems I should be happy with the 65 miles per UK gallon I am getting from my 2018 Hyundai Ioniq 1.6 GDi Premium SE.
I've only had it 3 weeks. I do try to drive light footed and my town is hilly so the battery gets charged well down the hills especially with braking.

I just purchased a 2019 Ioniq Limited, rated at 55mpg, but the best I have seen is 47.5mpg. I have right at 1200 miles on it so far and very disappointed in the mpg.

jt88488 - that is pretty much what our 2017 SEL gets too. If we push it to 70-75 it drops to about 55 mpg. We like to travel secondary highway where we get the best mileage without making people mad at 65.

Best speed for max economy on our 2019 model is between 55 and 65 mpg. Anything over that and we too drop to 48. But then again it's a town commuter car and not a motorway mile muncher at 75 mph.

Very disappointed here too. Had the car for 60 days, and trip to Florida 5500 miles, and averaging 47 mpg. Always try to use cruise control. And now I'm back home, 6 miles a day and the mileage gone down to 43 mpg.

Test drove an Ioniq Hybrid today. Drove for 50 minutes with the battery at 50% at start-up, 60% at finish. Ambient temperature 13C, heating on drivers side only 21.5C. Averaged 61.5mpg. Great!

Only feature I didn't like was the plastic feeling electric window buttons and the foot-brake. The car I had was also missing SatNav but would buy a Premium SE...

As the Ioniq Hybrid had a UK price of ÂŁ32800 new, I bought a Mercedes Benz C-Class 220d Estate for ÂŁ33800. I got a ÂŁ10k discount as the C Class is close to the end of the line with a new one due Q3 2021. I hope it was a good deal.

we just bought a elantra hybrid, which i think has the same engine as the ioniq. ours is epa rated at 55/47, but we are only getting 41.9. we were getting 40.1, then i discovered the sensor for the automatic headlights is way back from the base of the windshield, and is often in the shadow of the polka dotted mirror surround. so it thinks it is dark, and turns on the headlights. i turned off the auto lights, and now mpg is approaching 42, and the dash/nav stays brighter in the daylight. really dumb place to put the sensor. our sonata sensor is right at the base of the windshield, and the auto lights work perfect.

2018 with about 54k drive 40 miles each way per day, 80 round trip. 90% highway a few city streets for a few blocks. I keep the speed about 70 all the time on cruise. Winter time I get 55-58 and the rest of the time I get 58-61.

Remember that posted mileage will include the impact of battery on a plug-in.
Today I did a 200 mile drive starting with 0 on battery so the run was just engine and what ever regen happened. Mostly a interstate drive on cruise contest to 75.
The Ioniq report ed 52.7 Avg MPH
