So there I was waiting for the post man, bringing my package with my turbo...
finally it was there, and I fitted the turbo to my engine....

Started the engine...
fired up my turbo,...

and....

like nothing...

After a lot of adjusting, I can't find a way to make this thing whistle...
Have I bought a wrong dump valve? one which makes almost no sound?
I just hear a little bit of a sound, but the sound of the air sucking into the airfilter, when the throttle is released... is much bigger!.

The dump valve, does open and blows out some air...
how can I solve this problem?
Is it in the adjustment of the spring pressure or what is it....?

Some pictures to make things clear:

the dumpvalve itself...

Alright it's just me being to quick..

I didn't connect the vacuum to the blow off valve..
didn't know that it was needed :p

But where do I get this vacuum from?

in the picture below, I circkled a tube, which I think is a vacuum tube...
Should I put a T split in here, and then connect it to the dump valve?

Hey, It's better to make a connection to another vacuumline, one behind the air intake manifold. See the picture for more details. Make sure the hose is not too soft, it may collapse a bit, the best to use is a silicone hose, you can buy it at every car parts supplier.

Good luck and let us know if it worked!

alright, i have sound now...
but I can adjust the spring presure..

I want more sound....
what should I do?

loosen the spring, so it blows of faster and probably more...
thighten the spring, so it blows of at higher presure, but probably less...

or is there anything i can change?

hello i have a s coupe turbo .did you buy the red alloy boost pipe with blow of valve attachment or did you fabricate it yourself. if you did buy it please let me know where from thanks allen.

HI all.
Want to get a dump vavle..
is there anywhere else to fit it aprt from the side of the exhaust piping like in a ll ur pics?
just want to know.
cheers

Just an add on to my last post:

Can I install a dump valve here instead (see pic) or can I install it somewhere else? need to know cos Im getting one in a couple of months.

i think you will have to do what the other guys have done and weld a small section of

alloy pipe to the other side . and i will have to do the same because i got my scoupe

turbo about 3 days ago and need to make a start tuning.best of luck Allen

If you attempt to fit a normal `vent-to-atmosphere` dump valve to your S-Coupe Turbo you are doomed to grief!.

This is because the air in the vented boost has already been measured by the MAF & fuel injected to accompany it......if the air is no longer present (i.e. it has been vented before reaching the throttle body)......that overdose of fuel will cause the engine to bog-down pig-rich every time you change gear (or close the throttle) & the valve operates!.

This unburnt fuel will explode in your exhaust & also destroy your cat.!.

If you are determined to get that `phshhhhht` sound & vent to atmosphere, only the special twin-piston Bailey DV26 dump valve (of those sold in the U.K.) will do the trick..........otherwise, you need to re-cycle the vented boost back into the intake pipe, after the air filter & before the turbo.
The Bailey DV30 does this.

Bailey dump valves are sold in the U.K. (& overseas) by Demon Tweeks.......type that name into Google for the Website.

The dump valve MUST NOT be fitted where you indicated (that is the idle-actuator which serves the purpose of a choke on fuel-injected cars)!.
It must be fitted into the alloy up-pipe, quite close to the throttle-body if possible, but not more than half-way down towards the turbocharger

I bonded a DV 30 into my alloy up-pipe, but be careful where you position it, otherwise the bonnet (hood) won`t close........that`s partly why I have my bonnet airscoop!.

See my engine-bay pics. in the slideshow (linked below) for details.

Cheers,
Nick. :)

cool cool, i've checked ur pics and ive found both the DV26 and the DV30. is it a hard job to bond one to your intake...most popeople have it on the side of the intake pipe...is that the best place?
and how do I go about mounting one there?
cheers mate, yuo belly belly wise man!

im still not sure. exactly what vacume hose behind the intake i use to link to i cant quite see the hose it is hidden in the pictures ive seen i know their isnt that many but i dont really want to use trial and error and mess something up any help would be much appreciated thanks .

AJ.........I used a wood-boring drill-bit of the same diameter as the dump-valve`s connecting pipe, to go about 1/3rd. of the way through the alloy up-pipe & make a `lapped-in` fit, then enlarged the central hole the bit makes.
It`s obvious you must remove all the swarf & keep it out of the turbo & intake manifold etc.!!.

I used plumbers`epoxy putty to bond the d.v. to the up-pipe, binding the joint tightly with insulating tape whilst it hardened.
After this was removed a couple of hours later, I painted the joint with aluminium paint & it looks like a weld!.
It`s still fine after 4 years!.

Allen......the best place to obtain your vacuum is to `T` into the line which runs to your fuel-pressure regulator ...(on the right-hand end of the fuel-rail).

Cheers guys!
Nick. :)

hi guys im from greece
i have the scoupe turbo about 4 months with a turbosmart blow off valve..( http://www.limanakia.gr/scoupegt/4.JPG ) (i had an ihi vl7 turbo t2 from punto gt and now with the new engine i have a kkk turbine www.limanakia.gr/scoupegt/kkk.jpg)
its sounds it's not so loud..i think its the boost ( only 0.5 bar ) that we are working...
is there anyone tha has tried to put on the scoupe the HKS SSQV blow off valve?
Its sounds great !!!! but i never have seen it on a "slow car" only on Lancer Evo/Subaru impreza..and seat leon fr of a friend that works 1.5 bar overboost 1.2 stady :S ... :whistling:

(P.S my car on the photo is a bit dirty... :p sorry i just changed the engine and the turbo..)

mate, its because the dump valve (no offence) is entirely too big for the turbo, if its just the noise you want then score, if not then it would be a good idea to look at a smaller one, as everytime it "dumps" it will **** about a litre of air/fuel out of the BOV.

Hey, I'm having a problem with my forge dumpvalve.

The problem is that the vacuum of my scoupe is too strong, even with te strongest spring, my dump valve opens at idle rev. When is opens, the air is sucked into the dumpvalve, which will make my car stutter.

What can I do to reduce the vacuum? Probably a stronger spring will cause to not blow off any air.

My vacuum is like -0.8 bar at idle, it's okay that the valve is open, but it lets air into my intake.

please help
