Tucson - winter tire size options?

Hi, Since, we have had a big snow dump in Calgary already this year... argh!... actually a record dump, many are looking at snow tires already.

On downsizing for Tucson SE 1.6T, Kaltire recommended:

17" rims 17x7, 5x114.3 with offset +40 and 225 / 60 / R17 Tires either Nokian R3 or Michelin X-ice - Blizzaks were also discussed... or

16" rims 16x6.5, 5x114.3 with offset +40 and 215 / 65 / R16 Tires ...

I note they are major Nokian distributor in Canada.

Thoughts anyone particularly on Rim / Tire size... thanks in advance.

Thanks beejay.... Tiresize is an excellent website with visuals and solid data with the wheel offset calculator.

The 215/70/ R16 with Rims 16x6.5, 5x114.3 and offset 40 to 60 looks very good to me with smallest differences on the speedometer reading, less revolutions per mile (Last Longer) and slightly more vertical clearance 0.1 inches.

You can compare different combinations very easily.

One other question is what do people do regarding TPMS or tire air pressure sensors.

The quote I received had nothing on there about installing TPMS sensors, so I assume that the winter tires can run on the 2018 Tucson SE 1.6T without these and that any warnings about low tire pressure can be disabled.

If someone could let me know that would be appreciated... Thanks in advance...
