Why connect an external unit when SXM capability is already built in?

 

Well I have an old life time subscription and I don't think you can transfer those over to cars, just new radios if you buy one. I am used to my radio and it still works..lol.

 

Your best bet is using the Bluetooth transmitter. Replace the one your purchased.

HI all I have a problem and I don't know if you have a work around. I bought a 2021 hyundai santa fe hybrid and I noticed there isn't an aux port. They just have the usb connector now. I have a stand alone sirius satellite radio that I used to plug in through the aux port, which now obviously I can no longer do. Is there a way to connect this sirius radio to the usb port or maybe play through the bluetooth? I bought a blue tooth transmitter but the car didn't recognize it, and I thought that if I plug in the sirius radio to the transmitter I could broadcast the stations. I also tried to connect the sirius radio with a usb to aux adapter, which didn't work either. Maybe I boug 05

Right now I am using the internal fm transmitter built into the radio to broadcast if over a radio station and it seems to be ok, just wondering if there is a better alternative? I guess I could upgrade and get a new serious radio, are they any that pair with bluetooth in a car?

 

I have 2 subscriptions one life and one year to year so I don't know if lifetime only includes the app for sure but I think it does. I seem to remember using XM on my computer in my home back in 2008 when I had lifetime only but now that they are Sirus/XM not sure.

 

I also have a 10 year old Sirius radio with a lifetime subscription. I believe that the lifetime subscription, at the time I took it out, only applied the the actual receiver model and serial number of this radio. I do not believe it is transferable to any other radio, built into your car system or stand-alone.

 

So this would be a bit more involved as far as installs go, but you'll get the best sound from an FM Modulator. They work similar to the little "channel 3/4" boxes that came with old Ataris and Nintendos, and aren't as prone to dropouts and interference as the transmitter-based options. The downside is it needs a power source and also to plug in between the antenna wire and the stereo.

No, that FM Modulator is way too complicated! If that is the way, get one that plugs into the cigarette socket (does SF have that?), with aux jack and selectable FM frequency. Then listens to it just like an FM station. But sound quality is degraded. I have one many years ago.
