Hello, Would anyone know the interval when trans fluid gets changed?
I need to take a trip....round trip will be about 4600 miles I probably have less than 1500 on the current fluid now.. and before that had changed it 2 other times within 1000 about 8 mo. apart just to rotate the fluid. I am planning to do it as soon as i get back. I appreciate any input

Thank you

My wife has had it since 2009 and when she met me ...I changed oil on it every 6 mo. she had 50k at time.. it has 109k now.. since, I think I have given it 3 trans fluid changes.. I am planning a 4600 mile road trip round trip, I am planning to change oil now and after I get back and trans after I get back,. it might have 2k - 2500 on it now for the trans fluid maybe little more. About 2 yrs ago being nervous about the timing belt and all the hype I have replaced the timing belt, water pump, crank sensor, both serp belts, few other things I can remember right now.

The oil change before and after...well...ok...that' close to 5K. I'm just struggling with the reason/need for such frequent trans fluid changes. Three trans changes in 60K miles. I'm certainly not going to criticize you for it. But the old sayings like....if it ain't broken don't fix it.....to much of a good thing comes to mind.

I think it's way overkill. But hey, if it's working for you then that's all that matters.

Your probably correct.however I was trying to get more fresh oil in there. instead of doing a flush. I do appreciate your input though. BTW last I check which was last year car was getting 30mpg when I went to vegas. Im intererested to know if its still getting that. I have laser iridium plugs in it. chngd at 100k I also purchased used coils that had 35k on them so im done with that.. and plugs coils unless 'knock on wood" one goes out.
Thanks again
