Timing Belt And Warranty

hey guys,i have a 2004 sonata that while driving it yesterday i heard a bang and all of a sudden the engine died :w00t: .car has 97,000 trouble free miles on it,im the original owner.if the timing belt broke and did damage to the engine is it covered under warranty? thxs for the help

when i was at my regular mechanic,not my dealer i asked about the timing belt and he said it should be changed at 100,000 or so miles.
so to answer your question nope never had it changed,when was it supposed to be changed?

well l'm affraid he was wrong............60,000 miles or five years whichever comes first..............you would not have a claim on the warranty
