I have been looking at that as well. I know that there is 4 nuts visible on the inside of the hatch when it is open, and I believe that there are a couple more behind the trim of the back hatch. That's just to get the rear spoiler off. I'm assuming (since I haven't actually taken the rear spoiler off physically) that you can get to the led's from there.

I might give it a try in the next day or two. I'm wanting to mod the led pattern on my 3rd brake light.

How about a hatchback? I had the dealership replace mine because of water getting inside the lens, now the new one is doing the something, no warranty this time so I will be taking it off soon and would like to know myself.

 

when i was trying to get the spoiler off i got all those bolts off then the stuff under it was worse than 3m tape,it wouldnt even come off so i didnt try and rip.i gave up cuz when i pull stuff it breaks easy at least when its on the car haha

 

after looking at some pics online, on the inside of the spoiler is not what I was imagining. I really figured that it was hollow on the other side. There has to be a way to remove the red lens and get access to the led's.

Read again. I DIDN'T get it off, I found pictures of one that had been removed on Ebay. I just copied the photos.

I just re-read the title of this thread. I didn't realize that Krafcik asked how to remove the light, not the spoiler. Sorry.

I will look tomorrow to see how the lens comes off. There has to be a way.

well i was gonna say i dont remember your car being green, but then again you said you were looking at pics online but you didnt say that you got them offline, i read it quick cuz i was on my cell phone and its a tiny screen

anyone ever find a tutorial on how to remove the LED 3rd brake light????
