Strange Xm Radio Problem Or "feature"

Have a new '09 SE I bought back in October which has been great in almost every way. It does have a few "quirks", one of which is related to the XM radio.

Has anyone experienced the XM radio in the base audio system "reverting" back to channel 1 when the car is restated? When I start the car in the morning, regardless of which channel it was left at when the car was turned off, it goes back to 1, which is the XM radio running advertisement.

The even stranger part is that it doesn't do it every time - I'd guess I have a 50-50 chance of getting the channel it was on when I turned it off versus channel 1.

Is the radio not working correctly, or is this an unofficial undocumented "feature"?

my does the same thing..I don't know about the 50-50chance because I don't listen to XM that often, but for few times I switched to FM and switched back to XM and it was back to 1

Yup, happens to me too. Same radio, same problem. It's like someone is sneaking into the car and touching the radio.... I keep checking the spare change left in the ashtray, and so far so good. I would imagine it's the satellite carrier, not the radio unit. Easy enough to live with, enjoy your new Santa Fe.

I have a new 2010 AWD Sport and noticed this also a couple of weeks back but it hasn't happened since. I had actually saved a couple of stations on the presets and after I stopped and started the car again, they were gone and the XM had gone back to the first station. I was thinking that perhaps it was me going a bit crazy, but good to see that wasn't the case. All has been fine since then...was strange though and I don't understand why this would happen?

I've had multiple XM radios over the last 5 years (two factory and several aftermarket) and they've all done it. From what I see, this occurs when the unit is turned on and hasn't established a satellite feed. Best I can figure is channel 1 is the default channel that plays even when the unit is not activated, so it reverts back to that. No biggie.
