that's pretty slick... personally, I like it when people drive or walk past my car and say "WoW, that's an Elantra??"

I sure came close to removing the "Elantra" badge and replacing it with an "Avante" one, but thought better of it. LOL However, I did do this: while the dealer was putting on my paper tag, I was taking off their "stick-on" dealer badge. I told him, "It's not your car anymore and I don't allow advertising on MY car for free."

Does it leave any noticeable markings or residue? Did you use floss or line? Goo Gone?
No noticeable markings at all and no residue. I used dental floss (less abrasive than fishing line) and the tape came right off with the lettering. Goo Gone was not necessary in my case, but if necessary, you could use it.

After removing the letters, I used some rubbing compound and then waxed the entire vehicle (you could just wax where the letters were). Looks great, no scratches and looks much cleaner!

Debadged last night during a lull of the tornadoes here in Arkansas! Very, very simple. Did not heat up anything. In fact, car was wet and cool. Used dental floss to remove the lettering. Any adhesive simply pulled right off. I then used Goo Gone to clean the resideue, gave a couple of quick wipes and PERFECTION. I removed the Elantra and Limited badges.

Car looks great. Would you print the words WEDDING PHOTO on your wedding photos? Why print Elantra on your car? For you die hard Elantra purists, Elantra is still printed on the top of the bumper shelf by the trunk. Of course, I also left the H logo.

It's also printed subtly on the right side of the hood deflector I added.

Really? I'd put a 'GLS' badge on it if there were one available.

Just wondering, did they ever make a GLS badge or logo that's specific to this car.

I put a GLS emblem on mine not long after I got it. Ordered it off e-bay for nearly nothing and it shipped from Korea. It was from the previous model I think. I have since debaged the Elantra and GLS emblems from the rear of the car and am waiting for my new Avante and M16GDI emblems to arrive from Korea. I ordered them a couple of weeks ago and they should be here soon. They serve no purpose, but i think Avante just rolls off the tongue nicer.

Is the 'S' in 'GLS' a different colour, or is that just the reflection?

I'm going to debadge mine, but I may get the 'Avante' badge in the future. I saw it on a White Elantra and it looks good. Did you get it off Ebay?

Are you OK in Arkansas? I saw all the storms damage on the news, in Alabama is the worst I think. Is your Elantra OK ;) I'm so glad we only have hard winters in Canada, we rarely have such storms, calm country.

We're good. The national news concerning the Vilonia tornado started about 15 miles from me. The tornado the hit our airbase started 2 blocks from me. Wasn't very big but still glad I had pulled the car into the garage with all the limbs and hail.
