Hello,

First off, I am a noob to the forums and a noob to Hyundai. I just bought a used 2006 Elantra GT with 40k miles. So far, so good with the vehicle-- but I'm having difficulty figuring out how to fold the rear seats down on this hatchback model. I've looked everywhere online for info about this, but I haven't exactly succeeded. I can fold the rear seat backings with no trouble, but according to the owner's manual, I should be able to pull the seat cushions forward so the backing goes all the way down to the floor (instead of slightly angled). The manual just says to pull up on a strap in the front of the rear seat cushion, but that really doesn't seem to be doing anything...unless I'm pulling on the wrong strap, but all I see are these little black loops. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks.

I put my back seats up and down all the time; as a professional drummer I'm constantly loading and unloading my gear.

Yeah, you gotta yank up on those things like you're **** at it. What I do is, when putting the seats back up and putting the bottom seat cushions back in place, I don't push them back down into place where you feel a "click" (for lack of a better descriptor). I just put them back gently so that next time you don't have to yank hard on those little black hoops. Of course, if someone sits back there their weight will force it back down, but if not, you save yourself a little aggravation.
