Anyone else ever have this error? I have a 2005 Elantra GLS with 38,000 miles on it. Does this error sound like the sensor in the front of the car before the 1st cat, or after the 1st cat on the bottom of the car?

P0038 Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2, bank 1, heater control – circuit high Wiring short to positive, HO2S, ECM

Thanks in advance,
-Ed

Thanks SBR!!! That's the one I presumed and I'm working on right now, but it's a PITA to get off. Using a big 22mm wrench and penetrating lubricant, and I'm afraid if I torque it too hard it's going to rip the exhaust of as it's already flexing. Have any tips for loosening it? :)

Followup, do you guys generally buy the OEM parts from the Hyundai dealer, or get aftermarket like Bosch from Advanced/Autozone?

I am a Hyundai dealer... we buy all our Hyundai parts from region Hyundai parts depot.. I just walk across shop to parts dept and get my parts over the counter

As a dealer, we sell OE parts as supplied by the maker we represent, they come in Hyundai numbered bags/boxes as supplied from Hyundai approved suppliers

Wait till you have the pipe out, then clamp the pipe in vise, then go after the Ox sensor.. you gonna get hurt dinking with it in the car..
