Not Honking When Locked

I have a 2011 Santa Fe. I had to take it in for service in April because the shift lock was not acting correctly. Since I have gotten it back, it will not honk when I press the remote button twice. It did before the service was performed. The lights flash properly and the doors are locked, but I still want it to honk sometimes.

Is there something that was turned off that I can turn back on?

Not sure about Hyundai cars but my last two cars had the option to program the key FOB so there was NO horn sound when the doors locked, just a flash of the park lights. The horn sound is very annoying. Just read through your owner's manual and you should find a section on programing your key FOB. I can also set it up so a single push unlocks all the doors. Most cars unlock just the driver's door as a safety measure so have to press the unlock button twice to unlock all four door, two doors if it's a coupe. :)
However, if the horn isn't working when you push the panic buton, maybe the horn circuit was disconnected by the tech when the car was service. Look for a wire, near your horn(s) that isn't connected. It could be that simple. Good luck.

Check all your doors properly including hatch.

1. In my santa fe it would not honk when you press 2 times on remote when any door of car is not properly closed.
This is rule in my case.

2. Sometimes randomly it decides not to honk when pressed on remote 2 times. I would unlock it and lock it again and it will work or just open one door close it and try and it will work. Strange but it happens and I decided not to over think about it.
