Good day folks.
I am new to this delightful forum and joined to benefit from the experiences of other Hyundai owners.
I got a used 37000 mile old 2015 Sonata SE in May this year and became increasingly curious about the different engine noises and the levels. The car is registered with Hyundai USA and I have searched numerous sites and forums to find as much technical data as possible, without much success. This forum is the most useful thus far.
Last week I discovered one service update alert (for the VCM device), and a campaign notice (ECM) that was not referred to at Hyundaiusa.com when I registered in May. Had both done two days ago at a distributor and have driven the car 13 miles only in slow rush hour traffic.
Up to this point, I have not had any trouble with the car: no hesitation, rattles, power loss - nothing like what some have reported. After a hard run from New York to Virginia and back last month, I topped up the engine oil with a quart. Never had to do that before, but considering the speeds at which I was travelling, I am not alarmed; and realised an average 32 mpg.
I'll stop here, because I can do this all day long and never tire of it. I am an extreme automotive enthusiast and look forward to reading more of your experiences.
