Well you owners in the Greater Toronto area know where a good place for a meet would be, im thinking itd be nice if it was close ti the #401 fir travellers like myself. Someone just needs to post a date then see how many for sures reply then we know whether its worth it or not, we have the big meet in Sept. for all Hyundai owners thats fast approaching and its in Whitby or Oshawa not 100% sure! So i was waiting for the big meet then seeing what interest there was for weekly meets from there, but its whatever the people want.lol

 

Thanks for leaving the post i didnt realize how many responses it would create, hopefully it's sorted out soon then we'll start posting in the proper section for setting up these meets to happen on a regular monthly/weekly meets!
If a date can be agreed between at least 5-6 cars then get the word out, i figure if we actually invite any Hyundai owners any model of vehicle we would have a largerer turnout its just getting the word out ASAP. If we can get the meet before the one at a Hyundai dealer or office not too sure i just saw it on here somewhere recently, its in Whiby or Oshawa or something in September this way we may have met some guys/girls so we'd know them already and have people to hang out with and to go around meeting others!? Just a thought, so i guess T.O. area guys figure out a day & location near the #401 for travelers they can just jump on it and head home afterwards. Come on lets see people giving us a positive answer then we will be all set, so a couple dates have been thrown out such as Sept. 14th or 15th not sure if its before the factory meet in Whitby or Oshawa! I say wait for 8 replies and see what day they vote higher % obviously prevail then the date is set then a local from that area needs to pic a couple of potential meet spots and a vote on that as well! Im just trying to figure out something that'll work for most of us, close to the #401 would be great for out of towners who can just hop off & on without having to drive to far away from the highway!
As usual we want the public and police to not bother us for one or two bad drivers in the group, we want to be able to show everyone that we Hyundai owners are responsible drivers and theres a time and place for being foolish, its definatley not at a meet near or on busy streets!

 

So after you guys decide a date let me know if you want this thread moved. Or if you prefer to make a new thread in Canada section thats cool too. I can also make it a sticky there just pm me. I like the forum to stay active and car meets are fun.

 

I say....we meet at Ikea in Vaughan!! Nice parking lot there...BUT...there is also a meet there every Friday in that area. So...I DUNNO. Ikea usually really empty. We can just have our own little private meet there haha

 

^^^ I second that!! It's a huge parking lot with tons of empty space. It's only 5min from 401 using the 400.

EDIT: There's also a few members on the Veloster forum from T.O. I asked them if they would like to join us with our meet. They are having a hard time setting up their first monthly meet as well. I'll keep you guys posted!!

 

For clarification the big Hyundai factory meet is this weekend Aug 25.

The second one is for Genesis Coupe owners only on September 6 in Whitby.

I'm not aware of any others meets.

Looks like September 15 is the sweet spot and leave us room to prepare it.

This weekend the the one sponsored by Hyundai Canada, not the one we are preparing.

 

Huh? The meet at the Hyundai Canada head office was back on June 24.

The 2nd Annual Ontario Hyundai meet is on Sept 16. Its being organized by a Genesis owner and there will be alot of them there, but its open to all Hyundai owners.

Importfest is the only big meet this weekend.

 

Yeah i thought for sure i was told there was a big meet in Sept. at Hyundai in Whitby or Oshawa for any Hyundai vehicles!? Can this be confirmed by a Mod. with a date & location? Figure a Mod could find out easier & faster then anyone else could, i know theres been a few of us here who were looking forward to it. And if there is one this weekend where is it located as I'm from Peterborough so I'd need to look it up and map it out. Thanks

 

There's a big meet at Ontario Hyundai in Whitby on September 6. However this is exclusively for Coupe. I spoke to Greg, the president, and this is what he told me.

If we want a whole meet, we have to do it ourselves.

Well if it's just for coupes i guess we better get our meet set up, i guess we just get the Toronto guy's to find us an easy to find area near the #401 to make it easier for travelers to find everything easy enough! Then pic a date and get it done, so Toronto, and area members find a place thats got lots of parking in case we get a decent turnout and easy to find for us traveling there from a distance. Anyways lets figure it out and include all hyundai owners to come check out all the different cars etc.

Its Sept 16. There will be alot of Genesis Coupes there because the organizer has one, but there will also be other Hyundais too. Its not Genesis specific. Its for charity and all Hyundais are welcome.

thats great. but you may have some issues.
that is really close to where the Ertefa meet happens and it has been cancelled indefinitely due to some goof that got in an accident right after one of the meets.

just a heads up that you/we all may meet some resistance if it happens.

Anyone going to the Ontario Hyundai meet?? I'm nearby so I'll head out there... driving to Vaughn for a meet is out of the question for now.

I guess seeing I started this thread I should be there,lol seriously though as long as it doesn't look like rain I plan to be there just can't leave Peterborough until 6:20 when I pick up the wife from work! Next thing will be finding the location as I'm only somewhat familiar with some parts of the GTA, so if I don't have any issues finding the location it'd take me about 1.5hours to get to the 401 & McCowan Road area. I hope we have a great meet with lots of Hyundai owners there weather stock,mild or even wild cars! I'd love to see some E's with the same mods I intend on doing by next spring, hoping to have my windows tinted this week at least other then my 6000k lights it'll look like something's been done to it!lol
So where exactly is the meet, time of start, and I assume as long as there's no rain it's still a go?! I'm coming from Peterborough so West on 401 towards GTA so as long as I have the 2 intersecting streets/roads I should be able to find the spot. I really look forward to meeting the people behind the car's/user name's, can't wait hope it's a big turnout invite any friends relatives etc. to the meet to to show there car's and have some great conversation about our Hyundai's etc. Thanks. Actually didn't realize it had been planned for during the day, won't be able to make it then do I'll have to wait till next spring/summer for the big Hyundai meet in Whitby. Hope it's a great meet for everyone! Boydrone if you still want to set up something for Whitby area on the 14th-15th in the early evening till whenever I'd definately be there I'm sure their would be other local people who would be interested. Just can't make it to the other meet this weekend but at the same really want to see some other E owners with rims etc. on their cars so I know what I have to look forward to as I've only done a few little things so far! Same thing though I'd invite any Hyundai owners not just Elantra's but whatever works, anyways you can PM me if you want and we may have to start a new thread for that meet date! Thanks. Phil
