So a while back i posted a topic asking about neon lights for under the seats in my sonata.. much help was given so im back again with more questions =)

Last week i installed 3 neon lights under my seats and connected them to a "4 plug" cigarette lighter extender with switches on it.. turns out the switches don't control the lights so i need to manually turn each light on and off.. needless to say thats pretty annoying, and pretty messy looking to say the least, although the lights look awesome.

Is there a way i can wire the lights into the fuse box and connect them to switches that would be installed on the dash? i think i can do it myself as long as i get some decent instructions from you guys =) thanks for the help.

I attached some pics to give an idea of what im talking about..

Oh god, 4 socket cigarette plugs... I remember I got one to plug in my radar detector, phone charger, Just to keep an outlet free for my cigarette lighter...

Heck of a mess. I threw the thing out a few weeks later, hardwired my radar, started charging my phone at home..
my car sorta looked like an rmp, sans the computer....
I had coiled wires leading to the dash, to my cell phone clipped onto the visors, wire for the 4 socket converter....I think I may have even had a "hands-free" cell phone kit plugged in there somewhere too.Huge joke. It was supposed to channel my calls to the radio system. Too bad I forgot the frequency after a while.. and wel that hit the junk yard too.

I'm sure one of the forum memebers will chime in on which fuses you can tap in to... I did it for my radar detector.. but that doesnt run any wires through the footwell... just out the side of the dash, squeezed it into the cracks by the dash and windshield with a credit card and BAM super clean install.

Well for starters I would have gotten neons that were made to be hard wired into a switch instead of coming with a cigarette lighter adapter. YEARS back I had an undercar neon kit like this (c'mon I was in H/S at the time). You ran wires from the battery to a switch inside the car and all 4 neons had wires that ran to the switch and they had a built in fuse too, so all you did was flick the switch and bamm. . . instant neon. As in the words of a girl I drove by in Wildwood, NJ that saw the lights "whoaaaa" :w00t:

Now for your case, I think you can cut the cigarette lighter adapter off yours and run them to a powered switch inside your car, but I'll let someone else chime in here. Then you would just leave the neon's in the "on" position all the time, but they would only go on when you turned the switch on as that would control the power going to the lights. You can get a powered switch (and wire if needed) from any auto parts store.

I wired 2 green neons under my dash, on the passenger and driver side. I have a switch as well, something slightily different then the one you have. I will post photos. I would like to hardwire them, but I dont want to hardwire to many things seeing as I have my Radar alreadywired up.

Didnt notice my sig did not have the pic I wanted you to see..
