Infinity Audio Equalizer Settings

I have been playing with the Infinity audio speaker equalizer settings and I can't get it to sound right to my ears. Anyone have any recommendations for the bass, mid, and treble settings for the Inifity audio for a 2017 Tucson? I'm trying to make the speakers sound the best they can.

I have the same issue. I don't think the sound is bad it is just very bright and I think the middle front speaker is to blame. Unfortunately you can't control it independently. You need to bump up the bass a lot in order to get any sound from the subwoofer. Then I also found it is very station / input dependent.

Not the best but it works okay.

What type of music do you have a problem with? Too much what or not enough whatever?

Not much you can do with silly head unit setting options as automakers, and their fancy stereo suppliers, will optimize the sound system for the acoustics of the vehicle and the pathetic speaker quality chosen. With their unnecessary bazillion speaker locations, the headunit/amp will usually have optimizing/soundprocessing built-in and tuned to the car.

It is what it is unless you want to rip it all out and start from scratch.

Some might be content with simply upgrading speakers. Metal type tweeters for those that like screamers(overbearing detailed highs). Silk/soft/textile tweeters for those of us that like sweet smooth sound. Paper vs poly vs blended mids/woofers have different sounds.... Others simply wrap the car in soundproofing to improve the quality of the stock system. Yes, soundproofing doors/hatch/floors/firewall, some thick undercarriage rustproofing,.... can drop interior noise and help make the stock system sound pretty good.

I wish that automakers would leave an empty double din dash hole and larger speaker locations so that I can use whatever I want. Radio delete option is long gone!

With or without subwoofer depends on options. So, read your window sticker and look in the car. I'm guessing that OP's limited/ultimate/infinity should have it. If there isn't enough bass, than their isn't enough power or the subwoofer is a mass produced joke. And yes, most automakers subwoofers fail early if used excessively, and are grossly overpriced if out of warranty, which is why many adapt aftermarket replacements.

Test the speakers for frequency range. Remove the speakers, measure them for size, resistance, frequency range impedance, Klippel, ....and find suitable replacements for better efficiency, output, sound quality or the opposite. Or simple do a hit and run parts replacement for your music type until you find what you like.

Imaging will come from the middle speaker and why its too bright. The solution is a simply L-pad. Another option is to remove the speaker, take some measurements, and replace it with a less annoying (less efficient or different material) speaker. I'm a fan of silk and pulp-paper. I find that too many use overly annoying speaker materials that don't sound right, usually for longevity life in an auto environment, or simply because of the price point and output.

Bose, Infinity, BostonAcoustics, JBL, Harman, ..... do produce excellent OE upgraded systems. Problem is, they can't make up for every type of music, every source of music, every owners expectations, and obviously every ear drum. They are trying too hard to give owners that stadium, music hall, concert sounds BS which isn't realistic or natural, while trying to cater to every passenger location. Silly!

Just picked up my new car last night... and I agree wow the sound system even with the 7 speaker Infinity system sucks donkeys .... very weak, next to zero bass . Anyone have any ideas to make it better?

Where is the AMP located ? Maybe a new AMP would help or new subwoofer ? What size is the Woofer ?

I'll add my two cents in. Source and style of music makes a huge difference. What works for one source is not always great for another. Also don't expect that settings from a different hyundai car to work the same way on the Tucson. Each model of car is quite different, regardless of if they are also Infinity. Bass is Ok on the Infinity in the Tucson, but don't expect anything earth shattering or anything that compares with putting in a box. I did a quick on the fly adjustment and found bass +5, mid 0, treble -2, seemed to be reasonable for an all around setting. The one thing the infinity is good at is clarity. My wife is hard of hearing and she won't stop talking about how she can hear the radio so much better and she can actually understand the words and phone calls are so much clearer compared to any other car she has had. So for her, it definitely was worth having the infinity system. Had a friend checking out the car and he also commented how the sound was great just listening to the radio. With that said, don't expect miracles from it or to have it compare to a good custom after market job.

After one year with some different music , my best personal setting are +4 bass , +2 mid and zero treb ! , this summer i will deadening the front door with dynamat ( one of my friend give me some for free ) My other project is a Infinity Basslink Subwoofer connected on original sub signal , and a 12volt fish to go on original 12v socket. it's a 200W peak so the 180W socket are good for it. I don't want big bass but just a little bit without a huge and ugly subwoofer box.
