i10 GO! SE Clutch Pedal

I live in the UK and own a 2018 i10 GO! SE.

The clutch pedal has to be pushed all the way to the floor before I can change into reverse gear, and changing into reverse is sometimes noisy. However, the clutch does not slip, and works as expected when changing into all 5 forward gears.

To avoid doubt, the car drives great, and I have no gear or clutch problem in any gear except reverse. Once engaged in reverse, there is no grating. The only problem is that I have to push my foot to the floor in order to engage reverse, and there is sometimes grating when engaging reverse.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how I can correct this myself?

Thanks Bobby Boy. I've seen a couple of videos for adjusting the clutch cable on a Hyundai i10 (neither of which were in English!). One said the cable is adjusted inside the cab near the pedal, the other said it was adjusted under the hood. Being in my 80s I'm not sure I want to try this myself, although I may do if it was easy to get at. Do you know where the cable adjuster is on a UK model 2018 Hyundai i10 GO SE ?

My understanding (based on previous forum discussions on the subject) is that the clutch-cable of 1st and 2nd-generation i10 models is adjusted at the under-bonnet end of the cable.

The adjustment method is described in forum-member Longshot's final posting in this 2017/2018 thread

In principle adjustment should be a straightforward and speedy task, but, given your concern about your age (and the possibility that there might be a problem with the adjuster itself) you might want to get someone else to do it. If you can spot beneath the bonnet the 'star-shaped' nut near the end of the cable, you should be able to decide whether or not it's worth trying to DIY-adjust the cable.
