I've had my Sonata for 1 year and it's got 24k miles so far. I definitely don't baby it when I drive it. Plenty of hard accelerations and triple digit rural highway runs with the little 1.6T. It's never left me stranded. I've owned 2 Sonatas prior and they were great cars, this one is no exception. Hyundai has come a long way in terms of quality and reliability. My first car was a 2003 Tiburon, and man that car was a piece! lol. My mom also owned a 2005 and 2011 Sonata. I don't remember much of the '05, but the '11 was incredible and took us everywhere without a hitch.

The only concern I have is that it's given me a "Shifter System Malfunction" warning 3 times now. But a quick restart solves it so I haven't done anything about it.

However, being that it's a Limited with all the neat tech it has, I wonder about the long term reliability of those systems. I wonder how long the safety systems like the radar cruise, HDA, and BSD will last. Also, being that the car has full LED headlights and tail lights, you can't just replace bulbs anymore. Yes, LEDs have good longevity, but what'll happen when one does go when you're out of warranty?

I won't keep the car long enough to find out any of that, but I'm still curious. As much as I love all this tech, you kinda gotta keep in mind that it's all really great stuff when it works. There will come a day that it doesn't.

Otherwise I love my Sonata and it definitely will not be my last Hyundai.
