My Sonata has the fuel overflowing problem that seems somewhat common on these cars.
I've searched the forum and found several threads on the topic, but no one seems to follow up and write how they fixed it.
When I fill it I always use the auto fill setting on the pump handle. The pump will click off when it's full and then it will puke out gasoline down the side of the car and onto the ground. I always set the pump on the lowest setting, which sometimes helps prevent the problem. I bought my Hyundai used and it's always had this problem. I never top off the tank. It doesn't do it every time, but it happens frequently and it's really annoying.
I know people recommend replacing the fuel tank air filter, but I haven't seen anyone post and say this fixed the problem. This link shows how to replace it. It's part number 314533K500 and the MSRP is just under $50.

I'm hoping it's not the charcoal canister, as they appear to be about $200 from Hyundai parts websites.
I'm a DIY'er, so I'll be doing all the work myself.
