So I have a very similar story as this poster:
http://www.hyundai-forums.com/183-l...up-gas-tank-inspected-charcoal-canister-removed-restrictions-lines-already.html
"I did some research and learned that there could be charcoal pellets in the venting lines coming from the charcoal canister."
here are some of my differences:
• I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent
• I NEVER over fill my tank, once the auto shutoff kicks in I'm done filling my tank.
• Haven't had any error codes with this, yet.
• This started about 1-2 months ago.
• I have only found charcoal pellets in one of the tubes the 3/4 hose coming down from the filler neck.
• After removing those pellets I can fill normally.
If I add a small screen to cover the hole that the pellets are dropping from am I just putting a bandage on a real problem or actually fixing the issue?
What would cause these pellets to start leaking down and out of this hole now? Are they always in this area?
I read somewhere that if the vapor canister isn't in proper working order charcoal particles or dust particles can be introduced into the engine. Is this true?
Ultimately should I just get a new charcoal filter?
Thank you for any help!
