Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums but have taken away a great deal of knowledge thus far. I recently got a great deal on a 2009 Sonata 3.3l v6 with just a few quirks i'm in the process of repairing.

First on my list is the CEL throwing codes p2271 & p0140 which indicates a faulty downstream o2 sensor. I've searched the forums and have not been able to come up with the exact location of the sensor and the tools i might need for the job. I appreciate any advice anyone is willing to offer. I realize this might only be like a 10 minute job but I want to be prepared  . Thanks!

The trouble code relates to Bank1 Sensor2. Bank 1 is the cylinders at the rear of the engine bay, so the downstream O2 sensor is after the CAT on the exhaust coming off the rear cylinders.

Depending on how much space there is around the sensor, you might be able to remove it using a 22mm (7/8") spanner. If there isn't much space you might need a special O2 sensor removal tool.

Scottie.
