Just another tasteful/useful mod and very well worth the effort. This was not an easy task. It is not plug and play. I got them relatively inexpensive from Korea which included the mirrors and switch. Since the Korean and US cars have different wiring it took a lot of time figuring it out. These are the factory KDM mirrors found on the Avante. These are not aftermarket mirrors. All factory functions work including the heating element. Another cool feature is that both mirrors are convex as opposed to just the passenger mirror on US cars. They both also have Korean writing on them. The puddle lamp is very bright and uses a LED bulb from the factory. This was linked to the factory dome light but a relay is necessary due to the dome light being a negative trigger. I think its safe to assume this is the only Elantra in the US with this mod that I know of.

my dear,
I like to unlock the secrets of the manufacturers, and this scheme mirrors Folding is a new challenge for me.
1st observation technique, the connector wires are connected to the connector of the mirror along the column "A" are thin, so that the electric current is little tension, so it is not necessary to use a relay.
2nd observation technique, the male connector side mirror has all the pins, and the female connector on the side of the door has unused space, and I believe that releasing a small latch that is easy to install the connector plugs.
3 we need to find the colors and thickness of the wires, and also which pins in the connector which will utlizados car body port, it will be necessary to take two wire port left to right.

And lastly, I got a photo of the finished door, and if someone would like to know what the part number and also if the motion controller and the mirrors fold the piece is built, or has its own part number? obs.: the finish of the car is gray.

grateful. - LRoberto :)

the installation must be quite easy if all pins/plugs are in there,,,just route wires into empty pins, if you route it incorrectly it wont work, but before to route just simply check with the right pin...the rest must be easy...

#37 ·
All pins/plugs are not there. Separate wires will have to be run from the mirror wiring harness to the switch . Korean made and US made cars have different electrical systems. A relay is needed for the puddle lamp because the dome light is a negative trigger. It's not as easy as it appears. It obviously can be done though.

yes, it is true what Ken said, however I guess our brazilian fellow has KDM vehicle, it must be easy for him...anyways, plz let us know how things turn around...

hello,
Really our Elantra was manufactured in Korea. The part of the photo I posted yesterday is exactly how it will look after installation, until the command of power windows is identical, only the driver is a type "Auto".
As a contribution to the forum, the system sends electrical current to trigger commands all the windows, locks and mirrors, this is done by a timed relay which should be located in the box of fuses and relays.
Thus the switch photo I posted should automatically send current to the button to fold the mirrors.
Our intention is to put only the folding mirrors, the lighting system is not part of the project.
We know it takes work but I believe that you can make 100% like the original.
Just remembering, if anyone knows the part number of the part of the photo, please, because it is one of the items that need to be acquired and the picture is gray in color, and you need the correct code, because to my knowledge there are three colors of finish , black, gray and beige, and obviously each has its code.

a good weekend everyone.

Roberto, to make it fas if I would be you, I will contact any of korean supplier out there and tell them that you I assume have black interior and the rest they will do for you..Only two ppl on the board might know these numbers, but they do have the US specs not KDM, you might have less issues with wiring etc...but keep us posted

Fala, Roberto!

I did this mod in my car but without puddle lamps. I can tell you that the difference between the grey and black switch color are not so significant after all installation process is done. Only when you look more carefully to the interior you'll note the difference... PM for more info!

hello Rafael, Kencwood and all forum members,

I have a rough idea of how the scheme should be. I'll attach pictures of the connectors and end the schematic drawing of the connection.
Let us consider the basic kit of parts is the same as you have installed in the car, except for the lights.
And a doubt the finish and switches to move and fold the mirrors are one piece or need to know the two part numbers?
What I want to know, in gray is the photo attached.
I'm pretty sure that will be needed to install 2 wire connector The connector to the delta, and in parallel through two wires through the door, the car body, getting the right door and finally reaching the delta port connector right.

See if I'm on the right track!

hugs and good weekend.

LRoberto

Dear fscliu,

I wish I could help you, I suggest you try contacting the eBay seller, and report that your car is in reverse direction, right.
Thus the kit of mirrors should be the same, the difference is only in the part number of the switch. For information the part number used in Elantras left hand is 3X000-93570-RY RY being Black finish and part number 93570-3X000-RAS and RAS Grey finish. There is a code to finish last Beige, but I do not have the code (sorry). The Elantras right hand should follow the same logic of codes and color finishing.
I'm doing a study on the wires and connectors needed to install the kit, if I can make it work, I will describe the whole process, and materials needed to write a DIY post here in the forum. :)

when I did same type of swap on my grand vitara I got JDM heated folded mirrors (each mirror was around $350) + knob for armrest console ($35). Installation was not really simple, because you must run some wires to the VSM (central computer module), it took almost around 3 hours to make it work...so if you buy that set MAKE sure you get everything as I said,,,

Currently I am in Russia now till the end of Sept and checked their local Hyunday dealers...so now all 2012 and 2013 elantra`s come in with folded mirrors...I can check price for parts if any one would be interested in it....Talked to a friend of mine from their local elantra`s club so he made that conversion on his 2012 KDM AvanteMD (they can import them easily) and it was pain free installation. But all elantras made in Korea, so I assume that US based model wont have some wiring etc... but will post a schematic shortly....

I am interested in this mod, but won't be considering shelling out the coin until I know for certain what all is involved and where all the extra wire connections go.

I just had a mobile specialist in audio visual and stereo install all of the wiring for the power folding mirrors with puddle lamps and driver side switch. The problem he had was the lack of identification on the mirror plugs to see what pin was the puddle lamps and which two pins on the mirror connector connected to which two pins on the power folding mirror drivers switch. What a pain. 4 hours and still no functioning mirrors. The other problem is getting the wires into the little mirror m\harness connector-the pins are so small for the wire crimps that standard size crimps wont fit into the connector and you just can't stick the stripped wires into the connector and hope for a good connection. If anyone out there knows what number pins on the mirror side control the puddle lamps and fold-unfold and what two pins on the drivers door switch power the fold-unfold. I'm getting no where with Korean auto imports on getting the pin outs-they're glad to sell the stuff but forget about support!

Hello sir,

I just purchased the same mirrors and folding switch from Korean auto Imports and employed the assistance of a mobile audio installer but without the pin diagrams for the mirrors and folding switch all he and I have been able to do is lay in all of the wiring needed, connect up the turn signals as we knew that was pin #11 on the mirror connector and have a relay wired in to the room lamp for the puddle lamps as I knew the car has a negative activation for the room lamps. We are left with pins 4,5,7,8,9 and 10 open as 1,2,3 are for mirror position, 6 is the heater, 11 is turn signal and 12 is grnd. Could you share what pins are for the fold-unfold and what pin is for the puddle lamp on the mirror. The connector for the drivers side button we are guessing at this point that the fold unfold would be between pins 7,8 and or 12? I love your mod and would like mine to be fully functional. The seller has been un-supportive as to any pin outs or wiring diagrams to this point. I have the same set on order for my brand new volcanic red 2013 Elantra GT and it already has the turn signals and the wiring diagrams on that show that pins 7 and 8 on the drivers switch are for fold and unfold. The 2013 Elantra GT was made for the European and Asian market before coming here so the set-up should be easier on that.
Sincerely yours
Bruce Arbo

I certainly do admire the folding/puddle option. Really sets the car apart from the rest. I don't, however, have the patience to deal with a task this monumental. It may be an easy job for the pro's, but I'm not that ambitious. Pardon me if I just sit back and admire this mod's beauty from a comfortable distance, LOL. ;)

It's not a hard mod from what I can tell. Just cable routing and small wire soldering. Biggest hurdle is figuring out where/which wires to splice into are.

Hi Sistum,
There are three color options black, gray and beige.
The part number is # 935703X000-color
The option sold on e-bay for automotiveaple is 935703X000RY = black
There are options of finish, leather or not and three colors, and may be a total of six options!
935703X000RY = black
935703X000RAS = gray
935703X000YDA = beige
In www.fourgreen.com site, there are two options with color description.
See the link INTERIOR TRIM for 2011 Hyundai Elantra

I hope it helped. :)

In all the research I did, I never saw any other color than charcoal as an option. You might be able to find an EU OEM parts source that could sell you one from the EU models but I doubt it.

Well, we just got the power folding mirrors working. On the mirror side, pins 7 and 8 are the fold unfold and on the mirror switch connector on the door panel, pins 8 and 9 are for the fold unfold. My electrical pro and i decided to wire in a relay set up so i could fold and unfold the mirrors as long as accessory was on. The only function we still have not figured out is the puddle lamps as no one else who has done this mod has shared anything about what pins do what. We will figure that out soon by disassembling the mirror and seeing what pin is for the puddle lamps-the only open pins left on the mirror are 4, 5, 7 and 10. I will post that with pictures and a detailed write up when done. I wish those folks who did this already were a it more generous with sharing knowledge of pin locations. The sellers never supply the info.
