I just did a search for ATF, and I couldn't find anything on how to change it. I've done it before and it is now due again.

I did not find any stickies on this.

How much ATF does it take on a drain and fill?

Does the ATF lubricate the differential (it is a FWD)?

I did a search for info on the differential and didn't find any.

On the bottom of the trans, is a rather large drain plug. It came off w/a 15/16" open end wrench. It went on w/a 24mm box end, that kept jumping off. The plug sits between 2 ridges on the trans. The ridges make it difficult. Both wrenches did not working in that spot. It is also in a spot to thin for a socket....that is going up and down, between the frame.

I found no other drain plugs.

The ATF drains on to the shield and cross member. But it all drains in to the pan.

3.5 qts came out. It think that I put a bit more than that back in...But, the fill plug has no hair around it to assist w/guiding the funnel in to it....The last attempt to top-off had a bunch of spillage on to the ground. It is now at the top cold-line.

The manual only speaks of MT Dif oil. It has directions on how to check your MTs oil level.

I encourage you to do a drain an refill regularly. If I remember right, the Hyundai recommendation, based on their manual, for strenuous duty is 35K....prove me wrong...look at your manual, don't believe me.

This Tucson has 174K on it.
