What type of antifreeze does the 2016 Tucson Limited use? (I haven't looked in the manual)

Main question though, is the level seen in the picture enough or do I need to add more?

@Zurdo & @srudenko: Your levels are good. Just keep doing what you're doing: periodically watching it. :thumbsup:

READ THIS: Look closely at the "Classification" column on the posted owner's manual page, gentlemen. All antifreeze is not the same. When the time comes for replacing, use a brand that is specifically designed for Asian vehicles. It will pay you dividends in return. Zerex is one manufacturer that offers this. Hyundai has its own labeled brand...but you can expect it to be grossly marked up at your dealer's parts department. But it can be found on sites like Amazon, etc.

For those that like research, look up this: https://www.amazon.com/Zerex-675130-Vehicle-Anitfreeze-Coolant/product-reviews/B0033QO022

With regard to your levels, if it will make you warm and fuzzy to have your level midway between Max/Min marks, go to Wal*Mart and get a one-dollar bottle of DISTILLED (demineralized) water to add to the overflow bottle to reach midpoint. (Use the rest on your c-pap or wife's steam iron (if she's old enough to know what irons are used for ;)).

That's what people, like me, that were potty-trained at gunpoint do, aka OCD! I like balance in my life. Brings me great comfort! :grin:

I'll be glad when this political season ends. I'm beginning to see its day-to-day influences spilling over into every facet of our lives. Forum included! Sick of all this arguing, shortened tempers, topic spinning, name-calling, and hostilities. And all of this is just in our bedroom! :blush:

I understand this to be older post however, am currently seeking coolant change soon. I believe the following products to be compatable (2016 Hyundai Tucson);

Hyundai Long Life Coolant 00232-19010 (Ethylene Glycol)
ZEREX / Valvoline Asian Red or Blue pre mixed;

I’ve used Zerex G-05 (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT), Low-silicate, low-pH and phosphate-free formula) however, unsure if compatible with Hyundai;

We carry 2 flavor of coolant for service needs,, plain old everyday lime green coolant for services (customers cringe at price of Hyundai bottle),,, and the -19010 Long Life that come in newer cars for last 8-9yr now,, also for WARRANTY repair claims..

As others have previously stated, Vehicle Owner's Manual states "Mixture of antfreeze and water (Phosphate-based Ethylene glycol coolant for aluminum radiator). Nothing stated with regard to meeting any PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS (American Society for Testing and Materials - ASTM D3306 or Japanese Standard - JIS K2234), as with Engine oil recommendations. Current OEM coolant is Green.
Have since came across the following product by Recochem (COOLANT COMPATIBILITY: Compatible with other similarly formulated HOAT/OAT coolants. For best results, do not mix with conventional high pH, borate or silicate based coolants);
Recochem OEM 86-384GROEMH Premium Antifreeze 50/50 Extended Life Green
OEM Extended Life GREEN Antifreeze/Coolant - Recochem - US
Site offers"Click here to find the right coolant for your vehicle make and model!" search feature as well.

Now, regarding Hyundai Long Life Coolant 00232-19010 (unsure if KIA Long Life Antifreeze / Coolant UM040CH012 is the KIA equivalent), located the following video tutorial however, was unable to determine color or confirm if product is pre-mix as gentleman in video states it is however, not stated on container itself (at least on the front), that it is pre-mix solution. Perhaps gentleman assumed it was;
Part 1
Part 2

Thanks for follow up sbr711.
To confirm, the Hyundai Long Life Coolant 00232-19010 ( KIA Long Life Antifreeze / Coolant UM040CH012 equivalent?), is what's most likely currently installed in 2016-up Hyundai Tucson 1.6 TGDI, correct? Is it premixed or concentrate formula?
Also, would yiu know part number for "Hyundai plain old everyday lime green coolant", used for servicing vehicle?
Again, thanks sbr711.

Hyundai does not market a plain lime green coolant.. through the years we have used NAPA, Carquest, Shell,, and we using O'Reilley currently

Long Life been factory fill on product line up since around 2010 to current.. sold in 1 gallon jug, it is concentrate

Let me also add, check this fluid level (and all) when your vehicle is parked on a flat surface.

I've lost track how many times I've seen someone check their fluid on their sloped driveway, street or even with the front end lifted up.

With coolant, color is not as important as formulation. The first few posts from three years ago are very helpful--find a coolant that is intended for use with asian vehicles. If you select an aftermarket coolant, check the ingredients and make sure it's compatible with what it says in the manual. If you find an "ethylene-glycol with phosphate based coolant," it doesn't matter if it's lime green, dark green, orange, blue, yellow or bright red; you are following the manufacturer's recommendations if it has that type of formulation.

Thank you for the follow up DogPatchSteve! Appreciate you confirming with your source at KIA, if the KIA 50/50 diluted antifreeze part # UM040-CH012 is considered long life and compatible for use in the Hyundai Tucson with 1.6. The user manual (2016 Hyundai Tucson with 1.6 Gamma GDI-Turbo engine), states: Mixture of antifreeze and water (Phosphate-based Ethylene glycol coolant for aluminum radiator). Hyundai does not appear to offer a pre-diluted 50/50 coolant, just part # 00232-19010 Long Life coolant.

Considering using ZEREX ASIAN GREEN VEHICLE ANTIFREEZE / COOLANT (silicate and borate-free with Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT). Contains no silicates, borates, 2-EHA, amines or nitrites. Specially formulated with a phosphate additive). 5 YEAR/150,000 MILE GUARANTEE protects against engine failure caused by freeze-ups or boil-overs.
