"Alarm not on" message

Quick, pretty basic question: When you turn off your car and open the driver's door, does something pop up that says your alarm is not on? I get that message. It's usually with the pop-up to check the back seat. Trying to see if that's normal or part of the problem with my alarm not arming. Thanks

No, I've never seen an "Alarm Not On" message. Seems odd it would state that when the alarm doesn't even try to arm until 30 seconds after the doors are locked.

The manual states this -

The Theft Alarm System will not set if the
hood, the liftgate, or any door is not fully
closed. If the system will not set, check
the hood, the liftgate, or the doors are
fully closed.
Combined with your other thread, maybe one of the latches/sensors that detects when a door/liftgate/hood is closed is malfunctioning?

I thought it was odd too. Obviously the alarm is not on then--but I keep getting that message. Just wanted to see if it was normal or not. Thank you.

If any door/hood/latch switch was malfunctioning, it'd show as open in the dash when closed. If the car symbols for the doors/hood/latch light up when open, and go out when closed, switches are working perfectly fine, which is my guess, or it'd be obvious with the freaking car chiming you have something open. However, it could be a door lock switch (not the door latch switch), which would prevent the alarm from arming as well, thinking vehicle is not locked. Or the alarm module. Not much else at play here.

The Bluelink message has nothing to do with your car not locking. If you have searched you would have found we are all getting that alert, regardless if we locked the doors or not.

Your car not locking is likely caused by leaving the 2nd fob, or a digital key, in the vehicle.

In this instance, I was not asking about a BlueLink message. I was asking about something that pops up on my dash screen right after I turn off the engine and open the driver's door.

When I lock my car, it IS locking--but something is preventing the alarm from arming. (The car is locked but thinks that it is not locked.) The dealer service tech has confirmed that there is a problem. I wish it were as simple as having left the 2nd fob inside the car.

Here's a long overdue update: there was something wrong with the driver's door. My car would lock, but because there was a faulty part in the driver's door, the car thought it was unlocked. (Yes, I know that cars don't think, but there's no other way to describe what was happening.) As a result, the car alarm was not setting. And I couldn't remotely start my car. All fixed now. Thanks for all the suggestions
