Well......... subwoofer failed after 9-10 months. I wouldn't quite say that it's blown I'd just say that it has failed. The cone is frozen and doesn't flex up and down... it was putting my amp into protection mode and it stinks! Literally, it smells.. first time I've ever had this happen with a sub.

Not sure if I can warranty it... although not specifically mentioned in the exclusions, I don't think they would want to replace a sub that I modified by grinding down the ring to make it fit.

Now to go back and see if anyone had a sub that fit without modification... I forget who had what. I really don't want to grind another sub, that was a PITA!
Why Not go full size and drop it into the spare wheel.
Fiberglass mould of inside rim with plywood baffle with innerbaffle board for flush mount. No clearance issues. If my tag board is lifted by 5mm its a lot. But that can be overcome by using thinner MDF or making a new tag board (my project for Christmas break)

Way too much work :p

Plus I'm 90% sure I'm dumping the Tucson in the / before the / around the spring so I wouldn't do anything like that for that reason.

Replaced the sub with a cheap MB Quart DS1-204, or in the process of replacing it as it just arrived today. Need to get much smaller speaker wire for these tiny wire plugs... very curious that they're so small for a 200w RMS sub.

Fair enough. I guess i will have mine for a while still.

Don't stress about the speaker wire size. I have come to the realisation that the diameter can be smaller than what so many say it HAS to be. The distance is so short and the likelihood of you actually pushing that speaker to require a constant 200w is imposible.

Let us know how things work out.
And maybe get the gains set on an o-scope.
Can't help but think the last one burnt a coil cause of a clipped signal.

Hi Tucson Tony, is the sub enclosure constructed as a closed box?

today I removed side trim to check if I can fit a subwoofer in my European base model (Essence)

Regarding mounting depth, as far as I can see you have max. 6"

Max size of sub I think is 8" same as factory, there is not enough space for 10".

I am thinking of just cutting a hole in side trim, mount the subwoofer on some MDF and use the hollow space as enclosure. Might need to add some padding.
Hi, I have Tucson 2024,

I would like to install the factory subwoofer and wiring. No speaker modifications.

I do not have the wiring could you please indicate from where and the connector that would be needed.
