Accent 2016 transmission Problem

Sometimes my car gets stuck in the fourth gear and I cannot transfer it to the third or raise it to the fifth and I cannot remove this problem until I turn the car off and then turn it on again.
I checked in the computer and showed me the P0730 error only, knowing the transmission is CVT
What should I do?

It's CVT i can fransform to manual when it on D
It's more than100,000
CVT stands for continuously variable transmission, which uses a belt drive in variable pulleys for speed control. If you search transmissions available in 2016 Accents you’ll only find 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmissions.

The + & - sign to right of D on the automatic is just to allow you to simulate a manual transmission, my 2012 automatic also has that but it’s not a CVT.

Sounds like you might have problem with the TCM (transmission control module) when in the manual mode. That’s something that might require some electronic repair or replace.

Since you haven’t confirmed you have an automatic transmission, instead of a CVT which isn’t indicated available in US and not knowing if available in some other country, I’m going to assume an automatic and offer some further info.

I had time today to look thru factory manual for automatic transmission, which didn’t offer any info concerning the P0730 code but it did answer one particular fact I was looking for. It does have a limp mode (fail safe) condition that allows driver to get home or to a repair center. It didn’t indicate what gear that was, but sounds like it might be 4th from what you’ve indicated by it hanging in that gear. Manual also didn’t indicate what to check if it enters limp mode, but a general search of that code which is failure to shift into correct gear offered suggestions.

First that communally popped up was to change transmission fluid and transmission filter. That seems the most likely first step in your situation, as trash in the fluid could at times cause spool valves in valve body to stick and not allow gear shifts and causing TCM to enter limp mode throwing the P0730 code.

Just to be clear it could still be a problem with TCM or sensors sending information to it causing this situation. The fact that turning car off and back on corrects it makes me suspect some electrical problem instead of fluid. But if you’re over 100,000 miles without fluid ever being changed there’s a possibility that is what’s causing it and is the least expensive first step, without the filter change which will run cost up because of labor required to get to it.

Maybe the model year would matter too? I just googled and see the 2020 has a CVT(?). Perhaps the OP posted to the wrong forum?

FWIW: Didn't this forum used to require car year/model (profile data) and display it in the left-hand side of a post? That would clear up a multitude of confusion if just that were required to create an account.

Having basic alt-text for the flag would be huge improvement too. Displaying the flag without any hover text is asinine. Who (beyond @jwt873) is going to spend time at Google trying to figure out whose nation it belongs to? (It's eye candy, nothing else). All I can usually deduce is "not in my country." Nothing more!

[Sorry for ranting, the way this forum is setup invites confusion like this.]

Took a quick look and see that the 2016 Australian Accent is available with a CVT transmission. It's mated to Hyundai's 1.4 liter engine. 2016 Hyundai Accent Active Review | CarAdvice

Most members here are from North America, but we do have Australian Hyundai owners following this forum.. Hopefully one can help out Murad100 with his problem.
Yep Hyundai trialled all kinds of layouts for the accent here... There were base 1.4 and 1.6 MPI with a 5sp manual or CVT, 1.6 GDI with a 6sp manual or auto, and for a limited time a CRDI diesel with the same transmission options as the GDI.
Eventually they settled on just the 1.6 GDI models (same as the N American models) and they sold like hotcakes

Hi folks:

New here. Just want to see if anyone may have an answer to the transmission shifting problem on my daughters 2016 Accent. When in 'D' the transmission will shift through the gears too fast and not let the car get up to speed. With the AC on you have to manually shift or it will hardly go. It almost sounds like it's going from 1st to 3rd on takeoff. I thought it was the Eco system but I turned that off and it still does this. Any ideas? She is the second owner and the car has 42,000k on it. Wonder if this would be covered by the powertrain warranty? No check lights on but I've not ran the computer diagnostics yet.

thanks
