Why get leather seat if it will be covered with cloth?

 

Easier to Clean. No smells in the longer run.

This is what internet forums are about; answers you like; answers you may not like; irrelevant answers; tangents.

 

I read it as either "seat covers that are leather to cover seats" or "seat covers to cover leather seats". After reading the subsequent posts, I understand it is the latter.

Keep in mind any seat covers may compromise the heated/ventilated seat performance.

 

When I was growing up and a young kid in the late 60's we had a neighbor who would purchase a new vehicle every 2-3 years and get his cloth front and back seats covered in a type of vinyl or plastic from the dealership. Every piece of living and dining room furniture in his home was covered like this too. I'm sure it all looked brand new when he died a few years later.

 

Did he have those clear carpet runners on his floor too?

 

Some folks like to protect seats from kids and dogs. Not my need.

Have a look at the Dickies covers at Target. Cheap.

 

Do you mean seat covers that are leather or covers for leather seats?

 

I should have stated more clearly. I have the SEL with cloth seats. and would like to cover them up with leather/faux leather covers.
