Looking for a few answers. I have a 2016 Elantra VE 1.8L with an automatic trans and it just passed 100k. The trans has basically quit on me. It has a difficult time getting into drive on flat and especially inclined grades. If by chance it does go into drive it hits hard like dumping the clutch. Sometimes it pops out of drive after coming to a stop and slams hard after a second or two. Also, i've noticed that it will downshift hard in the same manner, but only from 4th to 3rd. after a few mins of driving, the trans then get stuck in 4th gear until the car is turned off and then restarted. no check engine light, no trouble codes, no funny noises, nothing out of the ordinary. The ATF has been changed thinking it was old, or dirty and the driving results, or lack thereof, are exactly the same. Any help if it may be an electronic part or anything else would be great. Also, if i just need to replace the trans, does anyone know if the same trans in used on the 1.8L as the 2.0L? As I'm told they are the same engine, only the 2.0L has a bigger stroke.
