Hi mate, not really. Spent a few hours on this and then gave up...

 

Aye, I kinda thought so, bugger. Was contemplating buying a 2015 NAV unit but too much hassle and too expensive

 

I got the 2019 software and maps upgrade on eBay for about $10, put it on a usb stick and it took 1 hour to install on my 2013 model. It even overrides the annoying battery saver feature that turns off radio after engine stopped for about 10 minutes.

 

I also got the 2019 upgrade from ebay for 9.99 took about an hour and forty mins but worked a treat, several long delays but wait them out. Only works on Gen1 (USB not SDcard)

I have a 2011 I40. Do you know if this update will work on mine?

 

What did you search on eBay as couldn't find anything remotely close when I searched.

 

The seller I got it from is no longer active, but I searched ‘Hyundai sat nav update’ and got 2 sellers asking for around £25 for the same maps.

Don't see why not just download onto usb stick, it won't get android auto though

 

How would you get android auto onto them then? Do you need the cars with the chips

Sorry what does this mean? So a 2013 wouldn't work would it? Would a 2015 model with the chip slot underneath the buttons work like below?

 

Looks the same as mine which is gen 1 if you have to update via usb stick then it is gen 1 and won't be able to take android auto

 

So even if you update the software you still can't run android auto? The picture above has the chip slot underneath the buttons so can you replace the chip that allows for Android auto? Thanks very much for your help

SatNavs are gen 1 to 5 you need to find out which one you you have and which was the first to support android auto I don't think yours will

 

If your media unit has the SD slot underneath then it will be android auto compatible.
