Looking for wiring diagrams for the radio/speakers for a 2013 Coupe...without Nav...Does anyone know if the 2013 w/o Nav has an amp in the trunk or are the 4 speaker connected directly to radio? I am looking for the best way to add a sub/amp in the trunk and possibly wiring options for adding a 4 channel amp for the factory speaker locations...

2013 Coupe GS

The base GS coupe does not have an amp in the trunk. The 4 speakers are run directly from the head unit. I just recently installed an Audiocontrol LC2i line out converter and Rockford Fosgate 500-1 amp which runs (2) 12" subs in a box. Works great. You'll need to tap off either rear side speaker (not both) for the signal to the LC2i. I mounted the LC2i and the amp to the back of the right rear (larger) seat. The hardest part (which is typical for any amp install) was getting the power wire through the firewall. In addition, make sure to add a 1amp inline fuse to the main power wire to the LC2i.

i just did almost the exact same think in my GT on friday..LC21 to a p500.1bd..but i tapped both front spakers to get my signal. And i did 4 8's instead of 2 12's.

I have too much power from the amp...even with the gains turned down 100% on the amp, and about 75% on the LC2i. Do you remember where you set your gains? And did you use the accu bass settings?

I have a Alpine 500 watt amp with 12" type R sub and box out of my old car...I was thinking that may be too much to compliment factory system...i was def going to upgrade the factory speakers...what else did you do other than the 500 watt sub/amp? Does that much sub make the car rattle? I have read that rattles are bad with too much sub in these cars..

This is my son's car and he had the amp and the subs from a previous car we traded in. Is it overkill? In my opinion yes, but when I was his age, it was just right. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of additional control the line out converter offered me, so I am able to adjust the settings appropriately. Overall, adding the bass seems to at least provided the audio illusion of making the factory speakers sound better mainly because I didn't have to turn up the bass settings on the stereo. My son thinks the overall sound is very good. Of course adding new speakers would probably enhance the mid/highs but he's happy with it. The only other thing we are going to add is the CN-M5 retro-fit from compass-nav. It should be here within the next few days and I'm hoping that the 10 band EQ it offers will allow further sound refinements. As for rattles, everything seems very tight (no rattles) at the moment, but of course over time, rattles are inevitable.

Arijor did you tap into the rear speakers at the deck for your line converter? Thanks

Currently, there aren't any rattles from the bass in his car from this installation. There aren't any guarantees that you won't have rattles. Every car, every install will result in something different. It's just a matter of time before rattles start to show up from this install, whether that's tomorrow or next year - is anybody's guess.

I also wanted to tap into the rear left & right speakers under the trim just before the wires enter the doors etc. I plan on just running speaker wire to the line converter near the amp as well, just wondering if you know what colour is + & which is -? Any help would be great as I have everything ready to go but just want to do it once, want to make this job as smooth as possible cant wait to get my 10" sub (for now as I'm used to 2-12"s but wife's orders)lol and my JL 500.1 to get some bass so I can turn it down on the deck as well and be able to really get it sounding decent! By next spring I'll have 2 dvc 12"s ready to go in along with all new 6.5's in my door to keep up, we're all the same once you get bitten you can't stop!lol. Thanks for any info you can provide as to wire colours etc. to run to my line converter. Phil

I was going to add a sub and amp to my 2013 coupe, but figured I would just start with a speaker upgrade first...then go from there. I replaced the factory speakers with infinity's and crossover tweeters. Now the sound is fantastic ... so I will hold off on the sub and amp for now. The factory head unit has P-BASS built in, so that provides a nice alternative to a sub...IMO.

Anyone ever tapped in anywhere other then at the deck to hook up there line converter like under the door trim maybe then run to the trunk and hook up the line converter in the trunk, any info would be great I really don't want to tear off plastic incase of breakage and remove the deck if not needed! Thanks

I just tapped off a fuse in the fusebox that was on when the key was in acc or run position...i have since did a four channel amp with audio control LC7I sound processor which has a signal sense 12v output i am going to switch to when i get some time..unless you have the upgraded nav radio with the factory amp in the trunk...i do not know of any 12v lead off the radio to use

looking at radio diagram there is a power antenna lead...socket A pin 18....i would imagine its active even though there is no power antenna in the newer Elantras...it was just easier to tap off the fuse box rather than take the entire radio out to tap the power ant wire...the only diff between the 2 is that the fusebox would have the amps on when the key was on vs when the radio was on...and i figured..how much do i have the radio off while driving..

I pulled the trim along the passenger side of the car and when I expose the bundle of wires that are there, I see 2 sets of brown and 2 set of white wires. How do I know which one is for the rear speakers. 1 of the sets kind of look like they are twisted together.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am trying to work on this today!
