I am brand new to this forum and forgive me ( and or correct me ) if I'm posting this in the wrong place....
anyway...
...just recently ordered a 2012 Santa FE FWD. ...and will not get it for a few weeks.... Love the vehicle overall... but have 2 (unrelated) questions, and would appreciate opinions on.
1) I've read all kinds of warnings online about being very careful upon taking delivery of a vehicle to make sure ( before driving off the lot) that there are no defects.... Any suggestions on what especially to look for with the Santa FE. ~ anything to watch out for visibly or on the test drive?
2) The other concern is regarding the "roof rack"... I hadn't realized til afterwards the the roof rails are 'flush mounted' with no opening to slip tie downs through.... but of more concern than that is how far the "cross rail" can slide forward? Every image that I've seen makes it seem very limited on how far forward it can go?.... I have a kayak that I want to load and the wider the expanse between cross rails is much better? Anyone have any experience with this?
