They were certainly right about one thing - that your vehicle was yelling at them with that set of codes that the Throttle Position Sensor, a known weak spot on an '07 vehicle, wanted to be replaced. However, that's not typically known for a no-start situation, just hunting at idle and really poor performance and possible 'limp home' operation.

What's bothersome is that the same set of codes reappeared after the fact. Ask if they used the NEW version of the TPS (which also comes with a reflash of the ECU - though we never have understood what that was doing and didn't seem super critical) or just replaced it with the old problem prone version again.

The whole 'key' issue mystifies me unless your car came from Canada with an immobilzer system vs. USA where we do not have that option. If yours IS a Canadian vehicle, a problem with that system can certainly cause a no-start, and confusion in Germany.

At any rate, do let us know what codes you come up with this next time around.

Sounds for all the world like a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). Those first two codes come up frequently for that problem, and it's a very common problem for a 2007. Usually, you start running into issues (like hunting for an idle speed) or wind up in limp mode before it gets that bad, though.

BTW... it IS possible to mis-install a TPS if you're a bit of a klutz. Let's hope that's not what happened.
