Hello, I currently purchased a salvaged 2013 Hyundai Tucson GLS 2.4L AWD and brought it back to life. I'm almost done with the restoration but the Intake manifold was broken, I had it fixed but the intake manifold tuning actuator was broken. Now I'm breaking my head trying to decipher which parts are missing. I know for a fact that the actuator is missing so I already ordered a new one but there is one electrical plugin that connects to a valve right next to it which I cant figure out. I bought a purge control valve thinking that was it but now I believe its not that one. I can send a picture of what I'm talking about perhaps I cant explain it right. Also, I read on another forum but with another car that driving without the tuning valve is no big deal, can i drive without it while I fix the problem? Because the engine starts and runs just fine from my inexperienced point of view. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I can send a picture for better understanding)

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not familiar with your engine but from your pictures I'd guess that the manifold tuning actuator is a vacuum operated actuator and the electrical connector will be for the vacuum control solenoid that allows the engine PCM to regulate the amount of vacuum applied to the actuator. It's the kind of solenoid often used to control vacuum EGR valves or the vacuum applied to a turbo waste gate actuator.

Regards.

Scottie.

So in this case this actuator would be connected to the solenoid, NOT a purge solenoid right?

Purge on 2.4 is on opposite end of manifold, and more up toward rear center of head above t-stat housing..

Here is pic (stick figure) that might guide you some in your ventures.. be advised, it aint everyday hot ticket items, so it might take a few day to get it via the various PDC's
