What Kind Of Real World Gas Mileage With Azera?

I've sat in the Azera limited and was very impressed. I have a Sonata 4cyl....like the car but not that comfortable compared to the Azera. But my gas mpg is very good....close to 30 overall mix of hwy/city.

What mpg can I honestly expect in the Azera? I don't drive real slow......nor super fast....but do cruise at 80 in the Sonata.
I've heard that Azera doesn't get out of the teens. I really don't wan't to get the car if I'm only gonna average 20mpg.......that plus the higher payment....

So wondering if owners can honestly tell me what kind of mileage they're seeing....good or bad.

thx

If you buy this car....it won't be for the millage I.m getting 22.5 in a small town with one red light. Nice car though....Other than my right rear speaker doesn't work on this high end Infinity system & it cost $36 for a piece of paper for your cabin airfilter........Other than that....love it.

Great, thanks for the feedback.  I'd be doing a mix of city/hwy but I'm guessing I'd be seeing maybe 20mpg overall.  Does the Azera run on 87 octane?

yes it does...regular gas......unlike some others.

I have an 07 Azere, SE with 1,250 miles on it. It has the 3.3 engine.

My driving is a good mix of Interstate and Tucson City driving. So far, I am averaging 24.5 mpg.

I am very pleased with my mileage and the power of this car is more than adequate. By the way, I drive the freeway at 80+ mph. Keep in mind that I do not have the 3.8 engine which I understand is not as stingy with gasoline as mine is.

By the way, my new Azera, which I purchased 3 weeks ago, impressed me so much that I went back to the dealership 4 days ago and bought an 07 Santa Fe Limited. With only 180 miles on it so far, I am getting 19.2 mpg. I expect this will go up a bit as the engine loosens up, but it will never be as good as my Azera.

A V6 engine can never compete with an I4 engine as far as mpg is concerned. The V6, however, will get you out of trouble easier with its extra power. That alone is a real plus.

I did not even know you can get the Azera with that engine.....that's the same engine in the V6 Sontata if I'm not mistaken. That's pretty cool. But according to Edmunds.com only the GLS model comes with that engine....not the SE. But either way, looks like you can't get leather unless you get the bigger engine.

My mileafge runs 20 to 22 in surburbia and 28 to 31 on interstate at speeds around 75. For a 5 passenger sedan thats very good. Many of my neighbors have a hard time getting 20 mpg in our suburbia location where typically first trip is 6 to 8 miles. Total mileage to this point is 6000 miles. All mpg numbers based on fillups, not indicated on dash readout but they are close.
Lowest gas mileage 6.8 indicated but that was on track at speeds to 120 and much 'stop&go on the 4.12 mi 'grand sport VIR course. It has an autocross in the middle of the regular 3.27 mi course. Well thats what it seems like. Even so Cadillac CTS RX-8s, and Miatas fell victim. Not bad for the Azera. on street all weather tires. Based on comparing similar sections of the regular course the Azera is pretty much the same as the Altima SE or SER.

Report still the same at 10,500 miles except the lower highway mileage is now 26 (26 instead of 28) but I've quit being fascinated by the MPG gage. Lowest is still 6.8but last trip on track yielded 7.8 mpg but traffic was very heavy and sometimes slower than usual.

My 07 Azera Limited has achieved exactly 20.0mpg over 2,218 miles.  Probably that includes about 70% City driving here in the Chicago suburbs.
Hopefully that will improve once I change to synthetic oil at 3K miles.

I run full synthetic & a K&N airfilter. Going for all I can get...

I've basically ruled out the Azera for my next car. It's a nice ride but I just came from a car that got 20mpg overall...now that I'm getting closer to 30....I don't wanna go back.

I think my next ride will be a Prius.....assuming it's comfortable enough and has decent power.....just enough that it doesn't feel overwhelmed. I could handle 40mpg average.....gas prices here in CA suck.

You get what you ask for when you go to a full size car with as you say "decent power" <~~ And this car sure has that ! I will pay for the gas. But I feel your pain over there. $2.76 gal. here today.

You can't compare the Azera to a Prius or any of its ilk.
I wouldn't touch any hybrid, they are only a stop gap solution.
If you really want the best mileage and you do city driving nothing beats the mileage of the MB ecocar a two seater with a 2 cyl diesel. Now if you also want confort and power wait a couple of years when the european blue line diesels come to N.A. and then you can have both.

Not sure what that means. From what what I've heard they drive well.....but I'll see for myself. Gas here has been $3.30 for 87 for awhile. I drove VW TDI diesel before...it was OK but I'm not a VW fan...my sister and ex g/f had one and both fell apart at 50K miles...all kinds of **** was breaking and they were well maintained.

If the Prius is comfortable and not a total sloth and can cruise at 75....I'm game.

Yota's are good cars....It's my other...A 2004 Solara. The Prius could be a good car for someone looking for that type car. But I kind of agree...apples to oranges.

Believe me if gas was $1.75/gallon I'd be all over the Azera.....even though I'm single and don't need a car that big.....I like luxury cars. But since gas here is roughly double that......and I like to drive a lot.....just too high a price to pay for bad mileage. With a Prius I wouldn't even worry about it.....but like I said....I'd have to drive one. If it drove like the Honda Insight I tested several years ago.....I won't be buying one b/c that car sucked.

I think the civic is a cool small car....and the si is even cooler. But yeah....It still cost over $40 to fill this baby up. So it would cost you some bucks out there.

The Prius would make sense if you drove only in the city, that's where it's economical! If you drive on the hwy then suddenly it doesn'y get as good a mileage as the civic. Just read recently that honda will no longer make hybrids as they don't really get any better mileage than their regular cars. My neighbour as a Prius and as far as driving pleasure all I can say is it goes forward and backwards.

As I always say if you want to drive a small car that you can barely fit into, feel every bumb in the road any worry about MPG then buy a tin can. But if want a nice car with all the buttons, with a firm ride, and confort then buy an Azera. Hey I work in the f&b business and I don't mind paying 2.99 a gallon for gas when I drive my Azera.

If you worry about MPG then buy a scooter. :amen:

I disagree. I don't think it's that black and white. I'm betting the Prius drives pretty refined and isn't like driving an true econobox. Have you sat inside one? I have.....it's surprising ROOMY. And I already have a scooter.....well a motorcycle.....a 1600cc one that "only" gets me 30mpg which sucks for bike but then again......I'm throttle happy.

In my parking lot, someone's got a brand new green (my fav color) Azera Limited with dealer tags.....nice! Oh well I'm stuck in a Sonata lease for the next 24 months. :whistling:
