I saw there is one for the 2015 and I am picking up a 2016 today... Sign and drive 3 years(35) payments 10k/yr $242 a month (8% sales tax county). My wife picked up a 2016 Santa Fe Sport Pop package for $340 a month

Our local dealers are advertising the base '16 SE models (base) with a sale price of $20,986. Still some '15 models on the lot, still priced at $18,986, with the optional popular equipment package, which is still $500 more than I paid for my '15 back in April. They also have some base '15 SE models without the popular package for $17,986 - which has the standard non-touch screen radio, no back-up camera and no padded door inserts, no power seat, etc.

I have noticed as mentioned in another thread that the '16 SE model now has a the large touchscreen as standard, but now no longer has power seat, padded door inserts (both which were optional on the '15 SE) or LED running lights which were standard on all '15 models. I guess they traded off the big screen radio and standard back-up camera for these other features. I do not even think you can now get an SE with the padded door insert or power seat even as an option and only the model that has the smaller 5-inch screen radio is the '16 SE hybrid.

posted this in 2015 Sonata price thread but here again, maybe can help people in the area.

2016 QUARTZ WHITE PEARL sport PZEV with prem package, comes with cargo package (cargo nets, hook, etc...)
almost fully loaded seems to me. had only 5 miles on it when I turned it on. got my car 6 days ago!

MSRP 26995
sale price 23995
trade in my 2010 altima coupe for 8000
$17535.51 cash OTD

well, the sale price should be 22995 after another 1000 rebate.

went in for 2015 sport with prem & tech package, they didn't have sliver but only one red and had already 69 miles on it.
almost walked out there but saw this 2016, test drive and liked it a lot.
android auto plays really nice, voice control doing texting and stuff is very easy and smooth too.

they still have that 2015 sport prem and tech package available and asking for only $21k i think

I am liking my new sonata a lot. not the best deal but still happy.

Same as OP but here in Miami, 2016 Sonata SE, sign and drive, $242 a month, 7% tax, 36 month lease with 10K miles a year. I love the 7 inches screen with Android Auto, having GPS navigation thru Google maps on an entry level trim is unbeatable. The only drawback I see is the LED DRL but I'm planning to change that in a near future.

Here is a complete breakdown to help anyone negotiating with a salesman.

Purchase Date: March 2, 2016
Location: Mississippi

Car: 2016 Hyundai Sonata Sport - PREMIUM Package
Dealer Add ons: Carpeted Floor Mats, Cargo Net, Mud Guards, Rear Bumper Protector, and Wheel Locks

MSRP on the Window: $26,550

NOTE: I only Negotiate Out the Door. That means, after taxes, titles, doc fee, rebates... I don't care.. I only negotiate out the door.

Out the door final price: $23,500

Here is the breakdown on how the dealer got to that price.

Marked the Price down to: 23,068.81
Doc Fee: 255
Taxes: 1,166.19 (5% Mississippi Tax)
Title Fee: 10
TOTAL: 24,500
Dealer Incentive -1,000
Total: Out the Door: 23,500

Additional Notes: The dealer incentive of 1,000 that he applied appears to have come from a Hyundai rebate of 1,000 for financing. After a down payment I financed the remaining balance at 0%. There were NO financing fees. Hyundai financing was very straight forward and clear. It was a 0% loan with no fees.

Truecar analysis showed the car was selling, before tax and title at 24,299. However, my analysis showed truecar might have been a little off and I felt the truecar BEFORE tax and title was $23,800.

I knew a guy at the dealership and he gave me some inside information after it was all said and done. He told me the salesman made $100 dollars on the sale and the dealership lost $700 on the car based on what they paid for it. But he said, the owner likely had a holdback (or ladder) deal in place and was just trying to get to a certain number of cars sold so he could get a financial reward.

Now how did I get that price?

I had done some research and found three dealerships with the exact same car and color. I got the lowest price and made them bid against each other. It was easy. But the key is to do your homework and make sure each dealership has THE EXACT same car. On the day I bought the car, I was driving to one dealership for a out the door of 23,750. The other dealership called me and told me to turn around and they would beat that price at 23,500.

I am sharing all of this information because this forum helped me with my research. I would like to add some additional warnings for anyone using this forum as research. When looking at the price someone paid on this forum be aware of the following:

1) What state are they in? Some regions sell at lower prices
2) Did they have a trade in? People who trade a car in at the dealership are losing on average 500 to 1000 compared to a private sell. If you are trading in at the dealership the price you paid for the car could be lower because they are just playing the numbers game (Research 4 Square car sales)
3) If someone leased a vehicle the price might be different.

This forum helped me get a good price. I am happy.

When I bought my Sonata Eco in early '15 and it was time to sit down with the Salesman to negotiate price, I pulled out my large 4X7 calculator with over sized numbers, and the look on his face was priceless. Apparently, a calculator holding customer is like Kryptonite at a car Dealership...he still tried to pull some shenanigans with the numbers until I was about to get up and leave. In the end, I got my target price, and the Salesman got no returned survey "With all 10's" from me. You get a returned survey with all 10's if you deserve it, not by bs'ing me and causing me aggravation. So yes, absolutely do your research! In my case, Truecar seemed a bit overpriced, but then again I qualified for several thousands in rebates and incentives and also had a boost up account. Good luck to all you Sonata prospective buyers. You can do it! These cars are well worth it, and I love my car!

Hyundai incentives changed yesterday (3/17) for the better! Spring cash went from 500 to 1000 and it applies to leases and purchases.
Lease cash also increased but i don't have all that data (nor does edmunds).

Sonata sales data has been good so not sure why they are being so aggressive, but we should not complain...happy shopping

#22 ·
Updating my previous post, it seems the lease cash for all trims has increased from 2000 to 3000; together with the spring cash boost (500 to 1000), there is an additional 1500 available effective 3/17 to 3/31.

Still don't get why they do this:

retail bonus cash (purchases) 1000
lease bonus cash (leases) 3000

Accounting for the 595 acquisition fee and the 400 disposition fee, with current low money factors, leasing is the better deal for those that drive 12k miles per year or less. If you like the car (and it lasts 3 years  ), you can buy it and save the 400 fee...

I am also looking at the new 2016 2.0t's, specially the Limited. I looked on Truecar.com and they say (Or should say give you a price) to expect to pay $29.050 before TTL... Does this seem realistic? That would be almost $5.500 of MSRP on a car that barely just came out?

#25 ·
Just bought a 2.4L limited with ultimate msrp 33,350, paid 27,600 before tax and fees. $5750 off MSRP. true car estimates $6000 off msrp but I didn't try that hard and no dealers have the color and option I want. Hyundai normally runs $2500 rebates for 2015 model year last year I think. And that was when the car was first newly redesigned. expect the price to go even lower. For those buying lower trims at msrp 23,000, $6000 off is over 25%. so **** cheap.

#33 ·
The dealer asking prices on the 3 vehicles I was watching just rose $3,000 each. Guess March is the time to purchase a new Hyundai. They were giving $5,500-6,000 discounts but it is now down to $3,000.

OUCH.
check again; hyundai added 1500 rbc on most models, still about 500 lower than March but not bad...

My 2.4 Sport with "Value Edition Pckg" and a few minor add-ons stickered for $24500. I paid $22K. (Did not have to pay tax as my trade was worth more and we get an offset here in NV)

I was happy with that discount on a car at this low price point.

sticker on the value edition sport with zero accessories (not even floor mats) is 25185, perhaps yours was 25400?

still, 22k o-t-d is a good deal

Just got my 2016 LF Sonata Sport from the dealership yesterday, farewell to the YF Sonata.... It's been a good car, but I love my new LF, especially the "Sport" model :)

First things first, to get rid of the "fish tank" look, 20% tint all around, with a 5% strip on the windshield(you can see the before/after pics in the garage).... Makes a huge difference with the appearance and temperature inside the car....

Next up:
-Going to the muffler shop next week, I will have the ARK DT-S exhaust (that was on my 2013 YF Sonata) cut and adjusted to the new LF Sonata. The guys at the shop have done some good work on some muscle cars and some JDM cars, they think it'll be fine with some cutting/welding....
-DSW Doningtons will be on the car, hopefully when exhaust is also getting done....
-Some plasti dip possibly, to take care of the chrome accents... Not a big fan.... (Side moldings, grill pieces-not the whole thing, but some parts, badges, etc.)

Will keep y'all posted. Overall, it's been a great experience, and already loving it!
