Veracruz with rear parking aid problem

Hi!
I have owned Veracruz two years now, and at this winter (here in northern Europe) I have had small problem with the rear parking aid.

Normally, when selecting R, it gives one about two sec beep to inform that rear parking aid is on and working.

But now sometimes it has given me number of short and fast beeps in three sequents (like: beep-beep-beep______beep-beep-beep______beep-beep-beep). Those short and fast beeps comes so fast that I'm not sure is there three or four short beeps, but more than two, and they come three times. But parking aid still recognizes obstacles behind the car despite from those fast beeps. And the funny thing is, that parking aid does not make those fast beeps every single time: when the weather is moist or very moist, then it is most likely to give those fast beeps. If weather is dry, then it is most likely to give that normal about 2 sec beep.

This problem has surfaced first time now at the beginning this winter for the first time. To that day rear parking aid has worked fine.

Has anybody came across to this? I think that it is a hint to driver that parking aid has something wrong but it is still workable. So is that a hint from a one particular sensor and if it is, which is it? Third from the left? Or a hint for something else? Or is only way to find out to call to Hyundai service to read the fault codes?

Thanks allready.

The beeps are coded to indicate a faulty sensor and which one. I'm not familiar with Veracruz however I have 2 ix35 LM series , both have had sensor issues, both have had water ingress into harnesses and corrosion. It could be at the sensor itself or in the main harness connector to the entire loom that feeds along the bumper. If water sitts in there long enough you'll get electrolysis and the connector terminals will rot away

On my car, you can spot 2 vacant holes in that large black connector left corner. . these were bypassed and repaired by dealer, but guess what they did not do? Never plugged the holes, water , dirt filled the plug and electrolysis did the rest turning all the contact black and decayed to nothing.

Thanks Gerard 2, I have also noticed that one free connector, but I don't remember was it on right corner (looked from the rear). I have to check that out and clean it or just cut the wires if the connector is busted.

I figured it correctly then, if those fast beeps tells to the driver what sensor is making a fuss from it self.

Gotta love that Veracruz system tough: previous car was Volvo V50 my2010, and when it got one faulty sensor it turned the whole parking aid off and only telling via trip computer that parking aid needs to be serviced.

PS: where from did you found out that those fast beeps tells which sensor is faulty?

Interesting. I charged the car battery for a three days straight and yesterday and day before yesterday while driving the rear parking aid worked as it should.

Well, all my cars with rear parking aid before Veracruz they all have had one thing common: in cold winter conditions (like here in Finland at this point) the first thing what comes before car battery is flat is small faults in rear parking aid: they either keep that continuous beep when selecting Reverse. Or right in the middle of reversing they start to beep-beep-beep with no visible obstacle.

I'll have to follow up that parking aid and see where it is going.

Thanks to all who answered my question. This proved to be good forum, I'll definedly visit here every now and then!
