The fin came off my 2017, took it to dealer and they replaced it under warranty.. Had to remove the headliner to replace. Never used an automatic car wash. Just pressure wash was enough to loosen it.
I'm starting to see a pattern here where 'highway-speed wind harmonics' might be crystalizing the plastic mounts causing a fail.

and had to pull the headliner to get at it properly.

For those doing this DIY apparently you only need to lower the rear of the headliner and reach in with skinny arms. That's how my dealer did it and had it replaced in about 15 minutes. I assume you'll need a right-angle screwdriver and a helper to hold the antenna.

Unless they have changed the design on the cover with the skinny plastic posts a new assembly will also break easy. I just re-attached mine with a bead of silicon RTV around the whole cover which will be much stronger than the flimsy posts. I was shocked how easy it broke when cleaning off the snow from the roof and I don't wonder why some are breaking off in car washes. Obviously, in my case I did not lose the cover.

The shark fin antenna cover (just the cover) came off (lost) on my 2017 Sonata. Dealership quoted me $550 installed for entire assembly. Ridiculous! Does anyone know where I can find a replacement cover? I have searched and searched and can't find one that fits. The universal ones are for replacing the "pole" type antennas not the '17 Sonata that has circuit board type antennas. Please help!

Go back to the dealer and complain. Contact Hyundai if they wont do anything
They have been replacing these under warranty because they come off so easily.

Please help!
There is a TSB (16-01-051) on these with a new design part. Make sure they replace with new design "QH" in the part number. Mine was replaced under warranty but with the old design, which I will have updated.

Should not take the dealership longer than about 20 minutes to replace if they just lower the head liner a bit in the rear.

I will please like your sharks Fin Antenna cover if you still have it. Mine flew off last week while driving. Thanks.

Yes, I still have it. Let me know your adress and I will sent it to you as soon as posible. I live in New Jersey.

It is not covered under warranty. The cover itself cannot be repaired
The dealer will replace NOT repair the cover AND all it entails. My quote for the job was $551 CAN FUNDS.
I simply glued the cover back in place. It works great.

What kind of glue did you use?

Join the club, the cover is held on with 4 brittle plastic posts the break very easy and mine broke very easy. I had good luck with an automotive RTV sealer around the lip edge and has stayed on successfully since the repair two years ago.

it should have been covered under warranty. The RTV I used was just temporary until the new part came it and installed under warranty.
Yes it would have been covered under warranty. Since I already had the RTV and I felt it was more convenient for me to take 15 minutes of my time rather than make an appointment and bring the car in.

Got home today, noticed a bird dropping on the antenna (Good aiming for the bird). Grabbed a paper towel and wiped it upwards slightly, and the plastic cover came off..???
First I thought oh no big deal, I'll just clip it back to place. But I found no clip or any design mechanism that holds this plastic piece to the base? It also does not seems to be glue based either...
I flipped it over and saw all the plastic holes in the cover are at least slightly cracked, where I would assume screw would go, but none of the screws on the base actually appears to be extending that far? And they can't possibly all crack from my wipe?

How is this supposed to be held on? I feel like just sitting it on the base won't keep it there, but I guess I could've drove around with this loosely sitting there all this time, and aerodynamics just works it out...is this something warranty covered? I feel like they may have to pull the headliner if the plastic part is not meant to be separable, which I would try to avoid...
How can I get just the fin for antena

How can I get just the fin for antena
You can't. The part is sold assembled with electronics and cover in the paint color of your vehicle. To replace just the cover you'd need to remove the entire part from the roof by unbolting the base.

I recommend washing by hand around the antenna as bumping it will break the cheap plastic screw molding around the screws.

Why can't you just buy a new antenna and not try to fix the old one? This will take a lot of time and effort. An antenna is not something that is very difficult to get or it is expensive to buy a new one ... Plus, the color of your car is very common, so finding a matching antenna will not be difficult. When I had a problem with my TV antenna, I didn't even want to think about fixing it. It's not worth a thousand dollars to try and save it. It was much easier for me to find a good alternative at 8 Best RV TV Antenna Reviews and Buying Guide For 2020 and buy it. This has saved me a lot of time, and time is much more valuable than money.
because a lot of us would rather spend $4 on a tube of RTV sealant and call it fixed. For a lot of us it’s just a car and a $4 repair goes a lot further than buying the replacement part.
