Is there a fuse I can remove or anyway possible to disable the TCS?

I can feel it fidgeting whenever I floor it around a corner or something.

Please and thank you.

A Hyundai Accent isn't high class enough for the to offer traction or stability control. :grin:  In the very near future they will since it's probably going to be mandatory in the US within a couple years, but as of now the only related technology you can get is ABS.

What model of car were you referring to?

Hmmm...he drives a Volvo...I think hes lost :whistling:
My 240 has less power, weighs more, is older, and yet still whips the accent. (not on topic though)
:)

I you brake boost accents they can loose traction easily.

I'm only stuck driving this car for a week anyhow. Thanks for the replies

And looks like the box the Accent came in. LOL! :)

FYI, your 240 has more power than the Accent, not less.
240 = 117-hp and 136-tq from 2.3L
Accent = 110-hp and 106-tq from 1.6L
Pssssh. It's 21 years old. It dynoes 90 or so depending on how lucky you are.

Not for long though......

I'm not trying to diminish Hyundais here, just trying to find some cheap performance modifications so I don't get killed.
I like the Accent, it's cheap, cheerful, and quirky. :thumbsup:

You won't get killed if you drive within the limits of the car. Being an econobox, those limits are lower than a sports car. A good set of tires and stiffer springs will go a long way.

we dont have a limited slip diff either. We only have an open diff. peg-leg burnouts only
odd, mine does |. burnouts, and I remember reading that the manual has a mechanical LSD, which is why it honks on dry surfaces and licks a large bag on slick.

No Accent has a LSD. If they did, you bet reviewers would have talked about it and I've read a lot of reviews before buying this car. It's an econobox, a LSD would add 1k to the sale price.

A lot of cars "lose" power on the dyno. IIRC, someone here a long time ago dyno'd the MC Accent and found out we really only have ~84hp to the wheels on a stock Accent with stock wheels. So your 240's still faster even at 90 on the dyno.

heck, we should be happy we're getting any power down to the ground. Some Chromoly CV shafts, lightened flywheels, Aluminium Rims and rotors would help a ton. Lose the AC, PS and minimalist Alty, then we're styling. Big bucks to get back 20-25hp.
